Having been replaying MGS4 this week for the trophies I can't help but think this would be a brilliant idea. I had forgotten how many little secrets there were to find in MGS4 so having an entire town full of them would be great. Kojima also manages to do tension really well (such as hiding right under the nose of the enemy etc) so it'd translate well as a horror game.
But the best thing would be the potential for fourth wall breaking moments. Psycho Mantis is practically a Silent Hill boss! So having those moments in a game series that is already known for mind-fuckery can surely only enhance it.

I think it's total bullshit to pay $60 for a broken product but other than gamers complaining, the industry doesn't really seem to be doing anything about this whatsoever. So how come some games don't need patching??

You even messed up porting Silent Hill 2 and 3...the best games in the series...the high point of Silent Hill releases in a long time.

not a good business move at first glance. but then,if you think about it, March will be this Silent Hill explosion with tons of coverage on the series. the franchise will own that month and put it right back on the map. people who were uninitiated with the series will all of a sudden be so aware of it that they'll be more likely to give it a chance. so....pretty cool business move.

Hearing him says it's based on dreams with randomly generated dungeons, kinda reminds me of this old PS1 game called "LSD: Dream Emulator", which was apparently based of a man's dream diary. The game had a couple of different reoccurring locations with random strange textures and music and no clear objective, but it's still interesting to watch/play despite the incredibly dated graphics.
