Holy crap Nintendo, this is the third character in less than a month. And none of them are new characters... C'mon, how hard is it to post a new character?
  • C.King - October 1, 2013 11:10 a.m.

they already revealed 3 new character and it could be they working on the old ones first so they only have to think about what's new later on, setting the base i guess
  • Kakarot - October 11, 2013 12:23 p.m.

    >Mega Man >Wii Fit Trainer >Animal Farm Kid That's three. From the start. They're slowly introducing them, so stop

Not surprised to see Sonic added. I knew it would be confirmed eventually, because the Mario & Sonic series and Sonic Lost World show that Nintendo and Sega can easily co-operate on those properties. Looks like a Sonic Lost World stage is included as Sonic's home stage. Pretty sure that Sonic and Mega Man will be the only two third party characters now, or at least, I'm very much happy with those. I highly doubt Snake will return, and there is a small chance there may be a Namco character included, but otherwise, nah, no more. Sakurai himself said that even getting certain Nintendo characters in is a nightmare (most especially Pokémon, only being partially owned by Nintendo.) I don't think people realise how much red tape there really is.

This sonic is rather odd they gave him the classic sonic grin, which is neat. Im guessing your waiting before posting the other news. New 3DS Kirby, Link between Worlds now has a free form system of dungeon choice and getting to buy some weapons instantly on your own pace. The new Super Mario 3D World Trailer looked REALLY nice, they game is much better overall than initially, quite a lot of new stuff and level design. Ace Attorney 5 Demo apparently available now.

Loving the combo moves that they showed off for him. Made the game look a lot more fluid.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS I was sad that the Spirit Tracks level had led us to believe there wouldn't be any Toon Link... but he's in! Sooo happy.

Going by that logic Ridley might have a chance, one version for the MOM level and another playable one. It'll be perfect.
  • waddledee385 - September 26, 2013 12:35 p.m.

2 in 1 month? this is getting intresting.
  • Vonter - September 26, 2013 12:17 p.m.

So Pokemon character for when X/Y come out, another one when Mario 3D Worlds comes out and finally I suppose Diddy will be announced when DKC:TP comes out.
  • J-Fid - September 26, 2013 10:03 a.m.

Again, this coincides with the release of a new game. Fully expecting a Pokemon announced in 2-3 weeks.
  • shawksta - September 26, 2013 10:21 a.m.

Yeah but we also have to note that Peach was revealed randomly No doubt about Pokemon especially since the 12th smash character update happens to be on Pokemon X and Y's release date. If Peach and TL are a hint, maybe it means 2 characters per month now, and it would make sense as next month we have Pokemon and Sonic Lost World

I love toon link's new colors, considering how pale he was in brawl. Ah shit, he just popped out of nowhere, when we expected him to NOT come. I hope Sakurai atleast makes him different from regular Link, saying he wanted to cut characters yet brings back a clone.
  • C.King - September 26, 2013 8:49 a.m.

notice wii U. maybe young link gonna step in for 3ds since he was refreshed in a remake too so we won't have toon link on the spirit tracks stage unless we figure out how the versions interact.
  • C.King - September 26, 2013 8:51 a.m.

nvm, just checked site he in 3ds version too. Funky! they could made that a character difference
  • JarkayColt - September 26, 2013 9:25 a.m.

Judging by the images released so far, Toon Link appears to have an identical moveset to Brawl. At the least, his Up, Down and Neutral Specials seem to be intact (Spin Attack, Bomb, Arrows). So at the moment, he would be very similar to Link again. In fact, I think, apart from Pit and Bowser, every other character so far has been identical to Brawl. Makes me wonder what Sakurai is actually doing and whether these are placeholder movesets, but I doubt they'd go through the effort of fully programming a placeholder and then releasing official images of it. Toon Link was different enough from regular Link though; Link was nigh unplayable whereas Toon Link was pretty good. The difference was in Toon Link's agility and floatiness, whereas Link dropped like a sack of potatoes.
  • C.King - September 26, 2013 10:05 a.m.

ikr! regular link was funky to handle in brawl. crude they identical? i don't really like brawl mario.
  • JarkayColt - September 26, 2013 10:16 a.m.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Mario has been shown using all his previous Brawl Specials, most notably the F.L.U.D.D, which IMO probably could have done with being replaced. It was very, very situational and barely worth charging. Also, Sunshine is an outdated game now. I'm sure that, out of all the characters, Mario certainly has the largest wealth of possible move inclusions. Wouldn't hurt to have changed a couple of them.
  • shawksta - September 26, 2013 10:10 a.m.

He was different yeah Also one of Sakurai's messages, one of peach's images, he specifically states that some movesets are still in development and might even change despite what they showed already. and yesterday's image was this We already know Luigi is entirely different from Mario and the only similarities are his B and Up B, but in the pic shown, his jump is now entirely different, more closer to his Flutter Jumping ways. Which is neat.
