Splinter Cell: Conviction on PS3 - we tell you when

 There’s been a lot of talk as to when, and even if, Splinter Cell: Conviction will get released on PlayStation 3. First the unannounced PS3 version popped up on a couple of Ubisoft resumes, only to be immediately removed. Then just today VG247 asked a Ubi exec when/if the PS3 will see Conviction. To which he responded with the typical corporate “I dunno/maybe/can’t say?”

Well, you PS3 owners needn’t sulk any longer - GamesRadar can confirm that there’s a 99.999% chance Splinter Cell: Conviction will definitely hit the PS3, and with a sense of history, we can even predict when!

Ask yourself this: How often does Ubisoft release anything exclusively? Rarely. When has Splinter Cell not landed on a PlayStation console? Never. Has Splinter Cell ever appeared on Xbox as a timed exclusive? Several times! Let's look at some US release dates:

*We’re aware Double Agent came out on 360 before the PS3 actually existed, and also that it came out on PS2 at around the same time. But we’re still including it to give us a worst case scenario.

Okay, once we add up the number of days in between the Xbox and PlayStation release dates, we can start to get a better idea of what Splinter Cell: Conviction’s inevitable release date will be on PS3!

    Awesome. Splinter Cell: Conviction and Left 4 Dead 2 were really the only Xbox 360 games I wanted on the PS3, and now they're (probably) coming! Yippee!

    Same thing happened to section 8. It was an xbox exclusive for about a year and now it's on psn for $40, but that game's sh*t, conviction is where it's at. I'm hoping for July!

    But seriously, I hate when games are exclusive just for the sake of being exclusive and not due to some hardware issue, so I'm glad this'll (probably) happen.

    I usually play Splinter Cell with my father, so I'm hoping this comes out on PS3, as his hands are better suited for the PS3 controller. If not, then the time it takes to wait will lower the price enough so that I won't feel bad about waiting.

    This is a interview with Maxime Béland,the main director of Splinter Cell Conviction and he clearly says:

    "Well, Splinter Cell was originally built on Xbox and we've had a great relationship with Microsoft. So Conviction is an exclusive for 360, it's not going to go to PS3, and that's interesting because it gives us some advantages.Our lead programmer was talking about it the other day and he said that when you're focusing only on one platform you can really fine-tune everything for that platform. He gave the analogy of a race car – you could build a car to do Indy, Nascar and F1 but it probably wouldn't win races in any of those. If you want to win the race you need to focus on one. Now, are we going to see the next versions of Splinter Cell on other platforms? That I can't answer, but there's no reason why we wouldn't go on other platforms. And other versions of Splinter Cell have been on multiple platforms." AND THERE YOU GO!!!

    If you don't believe in the words of the Main Director that created the whole concept of Splinter Cell:Conviction,then there's nothing more that i can do. One thing is certain : If this game was really planned to be released on the PS3 sooner or later,then it wouldn't be necessary to hide this fact from the media.
    This is ridiculous,if you want to play the damn game and you don't own a Xbox,then play on your PC,it's not that hard,y'know?.

    1. lol Microsoft spends millions to get game or dlc exclusive for a few months

    3.this game is not that great better then Double Agent and somewhat of the first but doesn't compare to Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow

    @ gilgamesh310, asides from the fact that Sony own both ND & Santa Monica Studios? As for the MGS4 & Heavy Rain I'm pretty sure they're both on dual layered Blu-Rays which would me the 360's would have too be seriously compressed. Its the same as why Halo 3 & Forza 3 will never appear on PS3.

    On topic xD, I just hope if it does appear it isn't gimped in one way another as is the norm with 360 - PS3 ports -.-

    If the ps3 can get this then why can't the xbox 360 get the likes of mgs4, uncharted 2, GOW 3 and heavy rain. It's not fair at all. Hideo Kojima at least should lose his stubborness and agree that if both consoles deserve one stealth game each they might as well have 2.

    I totally love how retards can take a post about a game and feel the need to inject their stupid ignorant red ring when xbox is mentioned.I love my ps3 more than my 360 but the fact still remains that sony took the other os feature and just because nobody prints about it all the time sony still to this day has the yellow light of death, and every update kills a few consoles so get over it..God fanboys are ignorant stupid morons
