Shank 2 was a bit of a surprise when it was announced last year, as the downloadable had its fans, but also had some problems. The team behind Shank is out to improve upon the original in every way with their new violent/cartoony take on the classic 2D beat-em-up, and players will get to see how they did very soon. Publisher EA has announced Shank 2 is coming to PS3 and PC February 7, and 360 the day after.

The 2D battler and its M-rated violence is coming out surprisingly soon for how little we’ve seen of it (though we did get to play it a little this week). The game will be an affordable $9.99/800 MS Points when it launches, and will have a brand new online modes on top of the single player action. Here’s the most recent set of screens:

Yeah about the time I started using the nipple chains of a fat S&M freak as knuckle weaponry was when I stopped being okay with the story of the first Shank. Nice to see he got a new shirt.

HAHA Xbox 360! PS3 gets it first! Take that!

I liked the gameplay in the first one, but the plot was just plain awful. Awful enough to keep me from finishing it. Soo I'll need some convincing before I spend a dime on this one
