Rock Band DLC ending in April

After 4,000 songs released over 275 weeks straight, Harmonix will pull the plug on Rock Band DLC. The massive release schedule, which fed into every mainstream Rock Band release, will culminate on April 2.

The last few weeks of content will include some remaining tracks from Rock Band Blitz, pro guitar upgrades, and even some artists new to the series, Harmonix said in a post on its forums. Fret not, the developer has "an appropriate track for the final release on April 2."

Xbox 360 players will continue to received community-generated content from Rock Band Network, which Harmonix has no plans to shut down. Unfortunately, other platforms only get a selection of the Network songs via the regular DLC system, so no more custom tracks for PlayStation 3 or Wii.

Is Blaze of Glory on Rock Band yet? If not, that's definitely what they're releasing April 2nd. I was initially upset, but since RBN will continue, I guess I'll live. Better chance to get the bands I want through RBN, anyway.

On the plus side, it'll be a lot easier to find new add-on content in the Marketplace when all the Rock Band tracks drop off. At the moment it's always a case of looking between the RB DLC to see what's out.

I can't believe they kept on releasing DLC after all these years, this really sad :( The songs already released will be still available right?

"final countdown" as the final song calling it.

That one was already in Lego Rock Band (and can be imported from LBN to the regular games).
