When Left 4 Dead 2 was first announced many fans cried foul. Some felt that it was too soon for a sequel, that Valve should’ve been focusing more on new content for the original Left 4 Dead, and that the upcoming game would divide the first title’s online community once it launched. But that wasn't all. Many fans also weren’t satisfied with the introduction of campaign levels set during the daytime. For these sun-hating fans, the night time was the right time (and the only time) appropriate for shooting your way towards the safe house in a Left 4 Dead campaign.

Luckily, Dark Center, a new mod for Left 4 Dead 2 has removed all signs of the sun from the Dead Center campaign for all Left 4 Dead purists. “Since the first screenshots of L4D2 were released, I was unsatisfied with the daylight campaigns. While it’s logical when telling the storyline, it spoils pretty much of the atmosphere that the first game had,” explains BarracudaATA, the author of the mod. So, if you were one of the many fans who still feel that daytime campaigns harm the aesthetics of the zombie apocalypse’s atmosphere in Left 4 Dead, the Dark Center mod should be right up your alley.
