Based on recent rumors I would say Halo 5 will most likely be delayed even though Microsoft recently said that it was on track for 2014. Normally Halo is hyped up by Microsoft for over a year, but they have been pretty silent on it other than a trailer at the previous E3 saying that some form of Halo was coming to Xbox One. It would also avoid a situation where Halo would have to go up against Destiny.

"Im starved for Local Multiplayer" Hey Zach, protip: Its called a Wii U.
  • FeatherHoof - January 30, 2014 12:31 a.m.

I think Monolith Soft's game "X" is definitely going to be pushed back to 2015. One, it doesn't have a release date, and two, God just seems to hate me and would allow such a thing to happen.
  • theguyinthecloset - January 29, 2014 1:13 p.m.

wow, I won! but I had replied to myself to give even more precisions on the theory, I don't know wether you forgot it or it just getting too long :p also Hotmail is broken right now so I'll have to wait to send an e-mail to Greg...
  • Shigeruken - January 29, 2014 2:29 a.m.

I don't have an answer this week, just wanted to say that the new front page is much more digestible. It's damn near perfect!
  • shawksta - January 28, 2014 9:57 p.m.

QOTW: Simply put, the new IP Miyamoto told us he was doing since 2012. There's nothing about it surfacing to the point where we dont even know if its even happening.
  • shawksta - January 28, 2014 9:49 p.m.

Awesome Show guys. "If your not playing borderlands in co-op your doing it wrong" Guess im not normal cause i loved them game playing alone :P Eh, I liked Skyward Sword's controls, i feel all the whinning are people who hate motion and people who sucked at the Ghirahim battles. It should be worth nothing that Nintendo Land enhanced the controls in Zelda Battle quest. Its called Chemistry Cooper, and yeah it happens in both the GC Baseball and the Wii Baseball. Strikers was awesome, its online is still great but goddamn all those flipping toads.
  • rainn'sgaydar - January 28, 2014 5:54 a.m.

I'd say Zelda U is 2015, at best. But what Nintendo will give us as another consolation prize is a Majora's Mask remake. I saw an interview with the Link Between Worlds director (I think it was director) that said that Mr. Aonuma specifically requested they put the Majora's Mask reference in the game. So my suspicion is that we get a 3D remake similar to OoT this fall, but my wildest imagination's hope is that we get a direct follow-up to MM as a Wii U 2015.
  • shawksta - January 28, 2014 9:56 p.m.

To be fair, out of all the Zelda's, there is literally no other item that symbolizes everything about a game like Majora's Mask. You just somehow know what it is, everything about it. The triforce symbol is just flat out Zelda, but Majora's Mask? Its too iconic of an item to not know what it is. Wind Waker, Ocarina, Twilight, Skyward, there isnt anything you can pull from those games that would give you an instance of what it is. But Majora's Mask? BOOM you know what exactly what it is. There's also another reference to Majora's Mask. Its kind of spoilerish so i wont say what it is exactly, but if your playing Hero mode, check behind Ravio's house, there should be something on the table that would only appear in Hero Mode.
  • rainn'sgaydar - January 29, 2014 2:23 a.m.

I've been considering a Hero Mode run, but I'm usually a chicken about hard modes. I think the only games I've beaten on hard were for platinum trophy purposes lol. And as right as you are about how iconic the mask is, I doubt they specifically requested it appear for no reason. Or at least I hope there's a reason they asked for it. And I'd also say the ocarina is a pretty iconic item to a lot of people too, but I so see your point
  • shawksta - January 29, 2014 7:51 a.m.

You should go for it. One thing i know about Link Between Worlds, even not have played it, is that its open world gives you a better run through any other times. Or to better clarify, considering the games open world free roam nature, and that you already beat the game, it should give you an advantage knowing what the dungeons are so you can give yourself an entirely different order to go through them. Yeah i can agree that Majora's Mask has been constantly appearing the integrity of 2013, you have the mask in Animal Crossing new leaf, Link Between World's references and the fact that Sakurai revealed Skull Kid as an Assist Trophy, something is definitely up.
  • rainn'sgaydar - January 29, 2014 8:06 a.m.

The openness ended up working well. And playing in different orders may make multiple playthroughs a little more interesting, but they're so disconnected from one another that the experience will be pretty similar. Still, it's so good it deserves another play, so I may do it. My goal this year is to beat 50 games and I'm at 12, so I could stand to take on a slightly longer, more challenging task. But I also have a huge backlog. We'll see. And yes, either something is up or Nintendo is trolling hard. That would be cruel.
  • shawksta - January 29, 2014 8:34 a.m.

You should then take it on your free casual time you arent playing a game :P If the remake were to finally happen, it only begs the question, 3DS or Wii U? Interestingly in 2011 we had Skyward Sword for Wii and Ocarina of Time 3D for 3DS, in 2013 we had Wind Waker HD for Wii U and Link Between Worlds for 3DS. It seems to have a pattern where a remake is on one side and a new game is on the other, though i perfer the Remake to be on Wii U, im fine on both sides.
  • rainn'sgaydar - January 29, 2014 8:51 a.m.

I'd say a 3DS remake would be more likely. Seems like it would be easier and it worked really well for OoT, which of course had basically the same style. And that's fine with me. I have a hard time believing a console Zelda would be out this year though. Just seems too soon. And even though Nintendo has shown a new model of a 6 month announcement-to-release window, I think they'll still keep their new Zeldas and core Marios on a longer schedule. Though I could certainly be wrong
  • shawksta - January 29, 2014 10:13 a.m.

True, one of the best things to come out of OoT is the touch screen handling the inventory. Either way its gonna be great having a remake finally. Nintendo loves to be secretive, and tends to announce games that come in the same year. Heck, 3D World was announced in June at E3, with Link between Worlds being at August. All i know is that Aunoma wants to save the reveal for a special occasion. Most likely E3.
  • rainn'sgaydar - January 29, 2014 11:43 a.m.

Geez. I didn't even think about trying to manage the masks AND regular inventory items. That might actually be better suited for Wii U with the bigger touchpad. I still expect 3DS though. Agreed. I'd say we'll almost definitely get a Zelda U announcement at E3, I just don't think it will release this year.
  • shawksta - January 30, 2014 10:01 a.m.

You know, now that i think about it and just remembered that Hyrule Warriors exists and is coming out in Summer in Japan and nothing announced yet for us, your most likely right in the Zelda U release being 2015
  • Ghostwriter - January 26, 2014 2:23 p.m.

I think the 360 version on Titanfall will be pushed back to 2015. There's so little information about it I starting to wonder if they've even started it.
  • TaserLime - January 26, 2014 1:59 p.m.

Will Tetris be delayed into 2015? Seems pretty likely to me. # tetris
  • Errrrbo - January 25, 2014 10:36 p.m.

"If you hate women, [Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z] is the game for you." Oh, come on, now. Remember when you guys played the trailer on the podcast and were all laughing? That's the point. It's supposed to be laughed at. You're playing as a villain who's been brought back from the dead and turned into a cyborg. Are you surprised he's not a gentleman? I don't see why a sleezeball character should be off limits for games. Think of it this way: Yaiba is to Ninja Gaiden what Austin Powers is to James Bond. More extreme, perhaps, but nothing you need to excessively white knight over. That's my opinion, anyway. Enjoyed the podcast.
