Could someone tell me why we should give even the slightest of a damn what some old, conservative, gun-toting lunatic who has probably never touched a game console in his life has to say about video games following a shooting that could have been prevented with tighter regulation on guns (Something this man has actively campaigned against) and easier access to mental health care? Video games do not make people shoot 20 children dead in cold blood.

Don't worry man, we all know and feel the same, but oh well, shit happens, and people get mad and exaggerate

Yeah, tighter gun control is the answer because people who commit crimes always follow the law. Let's outlaw meth and heroin while we are at it. That'll stop those drug dealers... /facepalm

Cars make people drive drunk too, so we should outlaw them as well.

I'm not really a big fan of getting into these discussions on sites that aren't meant to be about this but... Every damn statistic shows that countries with better health care and tighter gun laws have an incredibly lower crime rate than America. It's not about preventing every illegal thing that happens, unfortunately we know that's not possible, but it will reduce the number of incidents.

I don't agree with the NRA's statement either, but neither does many of the NRA members. Tighter gun regulations will only prevent honest people from having guns, criminal don't obey laws, if they want guns, they'll get them. I think better access to mental healthcare is the best answer in this situation, and public awareness of the signs of mentally ill people are the answer.
