Sony announced today via the PlayStation Blog that the Double Fine classic platformer Psychonauts will be returning to modern consoles via a release on the PlayStation Network as a PS2 classic.
Though some have derided Psychonauts for its technical issues, many other critics have long praised its imagination and unique vision. The Tim Schafer classic features a young psychic named Raz who enters the minds of his camp counselers to unravel the mystery behind the Whispering Rock Summer Camp for psychic children.
Each level was based on the psyche of each particular character like the conspiracy-obsessed Milkman (the most memorable stage of the game) and the non-stop party inside the mind of Sasha Nein.
Psychonauts will be releasing on the PSN next Tuesday, August 28. It has previously been released on the Xbox, PS2, PC, Mac, and Linux.
