Prototype 2 teaser honors Penny Arcade by kicking a helicopter out of the sky

We don't know much about Prototype 2, except that it exists, and that it'll focus on James Heller, a military man bent on revenge against Alex Mercer (the first game's protagonist) with the belief that Mercer is responsible for the death of his family. Now we know slightly more - namely that Penny Arcade's 2009 observation regarding karate kicking helicopters has been taken to heart:

Prototype 2 has been announced for 360, PS3, and PC, and is due out in 2012. We expect to see plenty more unfortunate helicopter pilots as the game is promoted over the next year - presumably at E3 and the like. First up is an exclusive preview in the April issue of EGM.

For a bit more on the game's story, check out last year's announcement trailer below:

Way too many bugs in the first one. I loved the game but I had to stop playing at a certain point because a specific bug just kept messing up a mission for me. I love these types of open games where I can just run around and mess stuff up with super powers. Now if they could do one set in an X-Men universe, my life would be complete.

@AMayer Get a twitter dude, and follow the GR crew. Brett, Chris, Tyler Wilde and Lizzie are going. It's gonna be epic.

I agree about there being too many bugs. It was hard to enjoy. But, speaking of Penny Arcade, there happens to be a certain Penny Arcade Expo happening in certain city, called Boston in, like, two weeks. So, I was wondering if certain journalists who happen to write for a certain website are going to a certain convention. If you catch my drift.

I didn't like prototype very much. Towards the end it got to be a chore and just wasn't fun anymore. I doubt I'll even touch the second one.

Karate kicking helichoppers is all well and good, but not as much fun as picking up a car and barreling through a crowd of people using it as a battering ram of sorts, especially next to the waterside where you can knock people in. I really enjoyed the first Prototype (if I didn't make it obvious) so I'm really looking forward to this one. It's just a shame the release is so far off.

Karate kicking a helicopter is nice but what about that while juggling orphans while reciting the national anthem. Now that would be awesome.

I can't wait, I fucking loved Prototype. And that Penny Arcade comic is still funny
