No mention of SSX? Not even as "Best amazingly badass reboot we've been waiting since forever for"? I'm never reading GamesRadar again.
  • BladedFalcon - February 4, 2012 10:23 a.m.

I haven't been waiting for it at all. Please refrain for making stupid generalizations. Also, have fun either never returning to this site. Or contradicting yourself and coming back to post an inane reply or another equally whiny, obnoxious and ultimately futile complaint.

The guy was clearly joking, Jesus Christ. I know sarcasm doesn't translate well over the Internet but my senile grandmother could've worked that out.
  • BladedFalcon - February 4, 2012 11:31 a.m.

Even if it's a joke, the logic's extremely faulty. Furthermore, you'd be surprised how many people make statements like this in complete seriousness. Happens a lot in this site as much as anywhere else in the Internet. Lastly, a good joke is supposed to be clear, or at least unique and clever, this is neither.
  • MercurialForce - February 4, 2012 12:09 p.m.

A good joke also requires the listener/reader to have a sense of humour, which you clearly don't.
  • BladedFalcon - February 4, 2012 12:24 p.m.

Pft, and you base that entirely on me knocking down on one comment. Way to properly judge a person :P Jokes are an entirely subjective matter, to be sure. You can actually find me laughing at a lot of the jokes made here. However, the fact is that here is that there's a comment posted who isn't really that evident of a joke. (At least the OP didn't make it clear.) It could just as easily pass as serious fanboy rage, and if you're fluent in the ways of this site, you should know that is not uncommon. BESIDES, can you honestly, tell me with a straight face that you found MidianGTX's comment to be immediately hillarious? Or you're jsut attacking me for the sake of being contrarian?

Let me just remind everyone that arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics, even if you win, your still retarded.
  • xarab4lyfex - February 4, 2012 7:02 p.m.

That's the point of the internet. I don't go on to try to be smart or rational. I go on to make statements and biased comments because I'm tired of being mature in the real world and am in the mood to say what I want. It's people that try to be smart or make you look stupid by correcting your spelling or calling you a dumbass that really need to shut up. AND I'LL ARGUE IF I WANT DAMMIT.
  • BladedFalcon - February 4, 2012 10:38 p.m.

Why can't you argue AND be rational and somewhat smart about it though? :P I like to argue because it's stimulating. And because, sorry, but I also like to make fun to people that at idiotic, or that think they are entitle to at like a dumb-ass just because the anonymity of the Internet makes them non-accountable. Saying what you want shouldn't mean that you can say stupidities unchecked, if you do.. well, I guess that's why the universe also created smart-asses like myself to keep you guys in check :P

Just don't open the disk tray after. We really need to keep shut the gates of Oblivion.

Don't know what's the big deal about Mass Effect. The story bored me since it was just collect a bunch of people and do a mission for them. The gameplay is more primative then skyrim's considering the controls feels not smooth and the shooting feels weird (if you've played gears 1/2/3, then you'll see what I mean). Everything was just a corridor then a big room, then a corridor. There's a lot of planets to explore but most are just mining facilites which gets REALLY boring after a while. And I was kind of hoping for more guns, but I guess borderlands just spoiled me. I thought borderlands was much better than any mass effect or fallout game and it's a better RPG shooter imo. Borderlands 2 for GOTY
  • DeliciousPie - February 4, 2012 8:46 a.m.

I can see your fanboyism showing. Might want to cover that up.
  • MidianGTX - February 4, 2012 10:05 a.m.

Yeah no offense dude, but you just sound biased and rather unintelligent. Oh wait, what was offensive. Still true.
  • xarab4lyfex - February 4, 2012 6:47 p.m.

Well I played both of them (ME 1 and 2) and I didn't bother finishing either of them. It's boring. I'm not trying to be a fanboy, but now I will. Either way Borderlands is better when it comes to weapons, being open-world, co-op, skills, missions, vehicles, and the characters are much, much better (Knoxx, Scooter, Claptrap, Steele, Crazy Eddy and Dr. Ned/Zed are much better characters than Jack/Miranda/Garrus/Liara/Ashley/Jack and whoever else idc about) and DLC. Overall it's just more fun, which is the point of being a good video game). I'll never see what's so special about mass effect. I guess just because it's space, people go crazy all over it for some reason I'll never understand. Plus the controls are better and I don't have to pause the game completely to use different skills or change guns. Oh and since we're talking about unintelligence, I go to Rutgers University which requires a 3.4 GPA and at least a 1700 on the SATs, but have fun in high school or whatever you go to.
  • xarab4lyfex - February 4, 2012 6:56 p.m.

But please, explain to me why I'm wrong, All you did was bash me, but have yet to tell me why it's so much better. And the linearity wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so slow and boring. Even after wasting all my points upgrading sprinting, it still took forever to get to places. And there was no motivation to do any of it. Why am I supposed to care about anyone. Jacob was the only one I semi-cared about, but everyone else just bored me. It's not a bad game, but it is overrated.
  • BladedFalcon - February 4, 2012 11:10 p.m.

Where to begin... Well, for starters, I don't even get why are you comparing Mass Effect with borderlands. Borderlands is a first person shooter with more emphasis on collecting loot rather than story. And by the way, Mass Effect has never tried to "trick" you into thinking it was open ended. The game has always been plot and character driven, and for that a certain degree of linearity is required. Now, I am gonna be completely honest, I have not played borderlands, and thus I can't say if it's a better or worse game than mass effect, and much less compare them in specific areas such as characters. However, from what I HAVE read about borderlands, it charms has always lied more in it's freedom and addictiveness and not really it's story or characters. If you prefer Borderland's characters and such, that's perfectly fine. But if you're bashing Mass Effect for them, well, obviously it's not the game for you. It's a game that requires you to read, to immerse yourself in the world, and to invest in the Characters and what you are doing. I can't talk on behalf of other, but the reason I find Mass Effect so great is because I like how detailed and explained it is. I like how if you dig into their backstories, every character has a good reason for being how they are. Every city, every planet, every piece of technology has a logic and an explanation should you want to read about it. For people that care about details like me, it's amazing. But then again for you and others that also translates into boring *shrugs* Basically, I respect and understand your reasons for not seeing what's so special about Mass Effect. I bothered to explain my point of view because MAYBE it will help you understand that a bit better, even if you don't agree. And well, you shouldn't be surprised for people to come out and attack you if you start saying stuff like "Borderlands is way better than Mass Effect." Because even if that's how you truly feel, saying it like it's a fact and not your opinion is bound to irritate people off. Lastly... Not to rag on your intelligence or anything... But those that truly know themselves to be smart never really feel the need to justify their intelligence by using school grades as "proof". Mainly because anyone smart enough knows that grades are hardly absolute or proof of anything. There are smart people that get average grades because they don't give a shit if they do, and can't be bothered to try harder. And there are average or semi-dumb people that get excellent grades either by repeated perseverance and study, or because they cheated on their grades, or because their school go easy on them. Not saying you fall in the later category... Just pointing out how grades aren't really irrefutable proof of someone having smarts or not.
  • xarab4lyfex - February 5, 2012 8:11 a.m.

I see what you're saying and thanks for giving me a legitimate opinion instead of "you're retarded because you like this less known game more than this extremely hyped game". And I've played and love plently of story driven/paced games. If I didn't, then games like Persona 3, Phoenix Wright, TWEWY, FFX, and Catherine wouldn't be some of my favorite games. Idk, I guess everyone just has their own opinion. I think I don't like Mass Effect because it's just too slow for me. I'm not fond of the primitive controls and honestly I've played both it and gears and after playing so much gears, I couldn't play Mass Effect, and having to pause the game every time to switch a gun is just annoying. And I understand why some of it is supposed to be linear, but it was just disappointing that most planets were just a long corridor, even though some had a lot of potential. And yea borderlands story was not memorable whatsoever, but the characters definitely are. Ask anyone who's played the game and DLC and they'll tell you some of the characters in that game are amazing like nine-toes, crazy earl, Dr. Ned, Knoxx, the ninja interplanitary assassin claptrap and some other guys like Steve. And I honestly wouldn't have brought up my grades if these other assholes didn't go and insult my intelligence. They called me a dumbass and I proved them otherwise. And I never cheat to get through, if I did then I would've failed college by now because you can't cheat in college without being in a frat.
  • BladedFalcon - February 5, 2012 8:45 a.m.

Well... like you pointed out to me in another post here, this is the Internet. A vast majority of people immediately go to calling other idiots when they don't share the same views. (I admit of sometimes sinning of this) It's as common and inevitable to the Internet as is porn, really. So my advice would be to not bother trying to prove your intelligence to those who you clearly know you're smarter than. (And by the way... none of my classmates were in fraternities, and I knew for a fact a lot of them cheated, and rather a lot... So it IS possible :P) And yeah, I can see why people could consider Mass Effect slow, linear, and shooting definitely works better in Gears. (Though if you want something even better than Gears, gameplay-wise, you should try Vanquish.) But to me, the slow pace is justified by the sheer amount of detail, info and explanation it goes into the universe that has been created, and thus, lends it far more credibility than most sci-fi fare out there, at least to me. Like i said before, the linearity is somewhat necessary in order to keep a righter control on the gameplay and story. And I personally don't mind that at all. And while the shooting isn't the best in the genre, it's pretty damn solid regardless, and this is an impressive feat when you consider it's much more than just a shooter, with all of the characters, places to explore, and decisions to make. So to me that justifies the shooting not being top of the line, since it's still pretty polished. (Far more so than in ME1, no matter what the detractors say.) So yeah, difference in opinions in the end, though I wouldn't say that Borderlands is a poorly known game. Sure, doesn't have the fame the ME series has, but Borderlands has become a very notable IP in it's own right. My last piece of advice would be, yeah, you're free to like any game better than the other, and if you explain why, even better. But if you do this while bashing the other game, or making exaggeration about it, you're bound to get a negative backlash in return, and this being the internet, the backlash is often more unreasonable than not.
  • xarab4lyfex - February 5, 2012 7:53 p.m.

Well everyone has their opinions. And I consider borderlands to be non-mainstream since it came out the same time as fallout 3 so it didn't sell as much as it should have. No one I knew really knew much about it until borderlands 2 was announced. Heck I only know two person other than myself who's actually played the game
  • TheGuy0526 - February 8, 2012 12:24 p.m.

I'm not reading all that.. My head already hurts. =p
  • muelsknr - February 4, 2012 7:48 a.m.

Don't know much about Bioshock Infinite, but it's gonna take a helluva game to beat ME3.
  • PolarBearsInHeat - February 4, 2012 8:23 a.m.

Agreed, I love bioshock, but I'll mass effect over Bioshock anyday
  • JMAN1156 - February 4, 2012 4:41 a.m.

Resident Evil six does look pretty gross, hell it's logo is a Giraffe getting blown!
