A 3D version of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link has just been released, and it looks awesome. The game controls like a first-person shooter. You’ll use the WASD keys to move, the spacebar to jump, and your mouse to look around. Left-clicking makes Link slash his sword and will fire off an energy projectile if you’re at full health.
The attention to detail is super and we were most impressed with the way Michael Johnston, the game’s author, translated the original’s sprites into 3D. “When starting this project I had to choose very carefully what I had time to accomplish if this game was ever to see the light of day. As a result I decided to remake the beginning of the game up to the end of the first boss,” explains Johnston.
