Play as first-mate-turned-assassin Adewale in Assassin's Creed 4 season pass

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag's season pass headlines a new story starring Adewale, Captain Edward Kenway's first mate, and other extra content for the game. Ubisoft today revealed a $20 season pass for its open-world buccaneering and multiplayer game.

The Freedom Cry DLC takes place 15 years after Black Flag's main story, when Adewale has become a seasoned assassin himself. The former slave finds himself shipwrecked without friends or equipment on Saint-Domingue (now Haiti and the Dominican Republic), where he is drawn to aid local slaves in seeking their own liberty across a roughly three hour campaign.

The season pass will also include extra single-player missions, weapons, and collectibles for Kenway's story, an exclusive Kraken-themed ship customization pack, and extra multiplayer characters.

In further DLC news, Ubisoft published a video offering a look at exclusive content for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4: three missions starring Aveline from Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation. It's free, but you'll have to buy it on PlayStation to catch up with the Vita heroine.

Do we really need another season pass added to this? I mean the one for Assassin's Creed 3 wasn't bad or great.

...aaaaaaaaaaand it looks like it'd turn out that a secondary character is more interesting than the main protagonist for the second game in a row.

GOD DAMMIT! I'm trying REALLY hard not to get my hopes too high for this game, but constantly seeing cool shit like this is not making that easy!

Hm. AC4 will probably end up being the first game I get a season pass for, then. I can only imagine how deep Adewale's story must be, considering that slavery is taking center stage in it. It'll also be interesting to see how Adewale handles the Assassin profession, as every new character seems to bring something new in AC.
