Not Easily Broken review

Clearly crafted for the church-goers among us, Not Easily Broken is a spiritually bent melodrama that follows the almost comically intense life and times of Dave Johnson (Morris Chestnut) – a one-time NBA hopeful hobbled by a career-ending injury and now living a quiet life as a high school gym coach.

His wife is injured in a car accident and the resulting pain and suffering pushes them both into the abyss of a messy divorce.

Based on the popular novel by TD Jakes, Not Easily Broken is 99 long minutes worth of sobbing and hand wringing, with little insight and even less humour. Deadly stuff.
