New website for Hugo awards

While many of our SF chums head off to Yokohama, Japan for Nippon 2007 (this year's Worldcon ), it's been announced that the illustrious Hugo Awards have a new official web site at www.TheHugoAwards.org .

The Hugo Awards are named after the legendary Hugo Gernsback , who launched Amazing Stories magazine in 1926. First presented in 1953, the Hugos are awarded by the World Science Fiction Society ( WSFS ), and honour the best in science fiction and fantasy. Our own columnist Dave Langford has more than a few for all his criticism and commentary.

The 2007 Hugo Awards will be presented on 1 September at the 65th World Science Fiction Convention. The Hugo Awards website lists the nominees, and will list the winners after the ceremony. You can read SFX's report from the event in issue 162.
