New Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine screens promote anti-Ork violence

A fresh batch of screenshots have arrived for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Developed by Relic Entertainment, the upcoming over-the-shoulder shooter looks appropriately gory for the franchise. We’re big fans of the treatment Relic gave to the world of Warhammer 40,000 in its most recent real-time strategy title. So, we have high hopes for the upcoming action title. Check out the new screens and a super sweet debut trailer below.

When this 1st appeard there were rumours u could play as Any space Marine chapter now it looks like the Ultra Marines (defualt generic and boring Space marines) are a lock I hoping for chance to play as the Space Wolves since they the toughest Marines in the 40k U I mean were wolf space vikings how could not give them a game?! PRAISE RUSS AND THE EMPEROR

God I want this game so badly. I've been in love with the universe since I was 10. Also a sequel to the DS game squad command would be great. And an FPS....this game begs for a Battlefield style FPS

Oh man, I can't wait for this game. Does anybody know if you can play Orks in MP?

@Stabby_Joe: Technically, around 17 years ago, there were some Warhammer 40k games kinda like first-person shooters. Space Hulk. You could command the entire squad and control individual marines like it's a FPS.

@LastPariah the actual music in the trailr itself I find awesome I would like to find the full version of the track =).

I already put money down for this. I love the Warhammer 40k universe. I dread the reviews when this does come out because I can't help but think it will flop, but I will buy it anyway. I own almost every Warhammer 40k PC game.

Just kidding, I realized I left my own music on while the trailer was playing but it was fitting perfectly.

Such a good choice in music for the trailer. "Death Is The Road To Awe" by Clint Mansell.

Wow... I've been waiting for this game for months. Is there a release date yet? Gosh, I am SUCH a Warhammer 40k Fan. This is (potentially) the game I've been waiting for for years... because Fire Warrior was not a good game, even as I remember it years ago....
  • Stabby_Joe - December 8, 2010 10:16 p.m.

I'm surprised it's taken them so long to do a proper ground assault based game set in the 40k universe. There was Fire Warrior but who really remembers that?

Not into WH, but i'd love me some gears of ogre (or something) anyway. Right now it looks really nice, but seeing as Relic are more or less an RTS studio, I want to know how it plays. Will it be a "bioware shooter" or an "id rpg"?

    Me too!
  • batman5273 - December 8, 2010 10:04 p.m.

I hope this game is good, and they do a follow up with the Chaos Space Marines.

I really want to play this game!!
