New Uncharted 3 gameplay video and details are so hot they'll singe your eyebrows

New "brawl" combat moves, incredible dynamic environments, and a top-notch story of intrigue. And that's just the beginning.

Sony unveiled some fresh gameplay footage and a mountain of details on the third installment of Nathan Drake's unendingly exciting life. In Uncharted 3, you'll be on the search for clues that take you to a lost Arabian desert. It's being called "The Atlantis of the Sands."

You'll start off in the boondocks of France when you realize you're not alone. Dun dun dun! Yeah, you'll find yourself running away from uncontrollable fires, bad guys who looks like they're beefed up on steroids, and, of course, nonstop gunfire. But enough talk. Let's take a look at the action:

Sounds like an Uncharted game, for sure. But this time you've got a whole lot more at your disposal. You'll be able to kill your enemies like never before. "Brawl style" combat lets you stealthily jump down on thugs from up above, catching them off-guard and then jabbing them to a pulp - or using your gun to finish him off.

Oh, did we mention you get to swing from chandeliers too? Yep. Pretty sweet. In fact, you'll be able to do a whole lot with the environment. As Sony puts it, you're not running around a "static jungle gym" but rather a living, breathing world that interacts with your every move. Take a wrong step and you could spell your own demise, even if there are no enemies around.

In other words, this is more than just a hyper realistic action game, and it's more than an interactive story. It's more like a hyper-action, realistic interactive story-game. Or something like that. Developer Naughty Dog is bringing some big guns to the table, literally, to make this game not just a step, but a leap, above where Uncharted 2 was. And Uncharted 2, with a average review score of 96.4%, was already a pretty damn good game.

Above: As usual, Drake always seems to be standing on something about to collapse, so he's frequently left hanging inches from a gruesome death.

The new installment doesn't come out until November of 2011, which gives everyone plenty of time to dish out more details like this and hype the wazoo out of the game all throughout next year. So stay tuned for that.

Best new action IP this gen by a bit of a distance. Gears is more of a true TPS and ME a Space Opera of sorts with more RPG leanings while DS just doesn't, like Mirror's Edge, quite fill the quality meter ,like the first three. Got to love some Nate action and U3 looks to up the ante even more-maybe ND can finally make me a game to rival MGS4 as the finest since this console generation began!! Close last time but not quite the same level of attention to detail and supporting lore Kojima has woven-not for me anyway. This, DS2, ME3, Gears3 and TLG(and the chance for those TI virgins getting their Ico/SotC in HD chancess to pop their cherries) are jewels in a glittering trove of 2011 gaming full of promise without even touching on the return of Killzone and Socom(my two fave Sony shooters!)so if Starhawk and SF finally get the expected reveals I'll be a pig, a poor pig, in sh1t!

SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT FOR UNCHARTED 2 With regards to the new chick debate, I'd be quite content for Chloe to make a reappearance instead. Elena is so boring, she's such a typical 'perfect nice woman' for the hero, Flyn (Flin?) even called her out on this before his death, although I don't think it was the story writers intention to shoot themselves in the foot there. Chloe was naughtier, and throughout the whole thing you couldn't tell if she was good or bad; normally it becomes obvious with 'good or bad?' characters, but Chloe had me guessing until the end...and I'm still guessing now, her alignment wasn't really revealed. All we learnt is that she likes Drake enough to not go against him. So is she good? Is she bad? I'd love to find out in Uncharted 3. If they instead threw ANOTHER girl into the mix, it would just get silly. Drakes already got Elena and Chloe on his plate. tl;dr Chloe4lyf

How are we supposed to wait almost a year for this one? I hope Chloe or Elena are in it

2011 is going to be a HUGE year for video games for ALL consoles. Everyone should be happy.

@everyone thinking this is the jimmy fallon vid. it's not. in his he had terrible accuracy, when drake gets his foot stuck, jimmy couldn't even hit them, plus he did a bunch melee stuff. whoever played this did a much better job. also i wonder who the new chick will b. im assuming elena will make an appearance (i hope) but yea there has to be some new hotness, maybe the villian will b a girl?

It's great to see the game without Jimmy Fallon's unfunnyness ruining it. Absolutely can't wait for Uncharted 3. @Gameguy94 @subzero8012001 The video player adjusts the quality of the video for uninterrupted playback (SD buffers faster than HD). Netfix does something similar.

    Wow, excellent trailer. Crying shame I don't have a PS3. =((
  • subzero8012001 - December 18, 2010 7:49 p.m.

Can't wait for this to come out! It's going to be great. @Gameguy94 Yeah I've had the same thing happen to me on this video and some others, I don't know what it is.
  • Gameguy94 - December 18, 2010 3:33 p.m.

You guys shouldn't have bothered putting that Jimmy Faillon video up. Oh and GR your videos seem to randomly switch quality while playing. One moment its crisp and clear the next its all grainy. Is any one else having this problem?

  • Robx - December 18, 2010 2:03 a.m.

  • AdonisX82 - December 18, 2010 1:56 a.m.

    Comment above is not sarcastic.
  • aham1994 - December 18, 2010 1:38 a.m.

So you posted the same video except without Jimmy Falon. Great Job!
