New Portal 2 gameplay videos show off Faith Plate and Repulsion Gel

You've probably seen a lot of Portal 2 videos by now, but it's never enough, is it? Valve is bombarding the internet with Portal teases, and here are two more gameplay videos from Gamescom. The videos further explore a couple of the game's gadgets: Repulsion Gel and Faith Plates. There's clearly a lot of fun to be had with both:

though these aren't "new" videos, still great.

As great as the original Portal was, this looks ten times better.

And sorry for the double post but has anyone else noticed that the glass is now breakable.

As long as valve keep releasing clips I dont care how similar they are. But I keep getting a popup on the site thats asking for a digg username and password, but after I closed it it popped up another 4 times. I'm not getting this from any other site and it reoccours every time I open a new page.

Valve keep changing the 1st person shooters genre. THIS is why this game WILL sell.

  • ElderGamer - August 26, 2010 2:22 a.m.

@abbottfrizzell You have to admit that the start up scenes are incredibly hilarious. Just read the fine text. And the environments and parts of the puzzles are very similar when compared with the newer versions. And about my ReCaptcha...giant sporam...*sigh*...*enters 'giant sperm'*

:O that looks completely insane. Mindblowing even.

i agree with eldergamer. i'm pretty sure i've seen these videos already.
  • abbottfrizzell - August 26, 2010 2:01 a.m.

@eldergamer... I thought the same thing when it started up. They need a different introduction but I still love to work my magic on figuring out the ReCaptcha...

God, I cannot wait for this game!!
  • oufour - August 26, 2010 1:30 a.m.

    this game looks REALLY difficult.
  • ThatGuyFromTV - August 26, 2010 1:28 a.m.

Yeah, hate to break it to you, but these vids are REALLY old. I think you even showed them to us before this. However, I'll give a pass, because watching those turrets bounce around like crazy with that gel never gets old. How long do you think it'll be before Portal 2 gets into a college course?
  • ElderGamer - August 26, 2010 1:25 a.m.

*facepalm* Terribly sorry about my fail there. They're just very similar to the ones I saw on Steam. The puzzles are actually the only thing that is different. The ones on Steam and the ones here have the same textures being used in them. Faith plates with the dreary walls and acid floors and repulsion gel with the nice clean walls and floors. Again, sorry about that.
  • Imgema - August 26, 2010 1:10 a.m.

    those gel physics are amazing
  • Redeater - August 26, 2010 1:02 a.m.

@ElderGamer If I haven't seen it its new to me
  • GamesRadarTylerWilde - August 26, 2010 12:52 a.m.

@ElderGamer I saw some similar videos, but these were slightly different than those. I'll check though...
  • ElderGamer - August 26, 2010 12:50 a.m.

Wait not over 2 months ago. ALMOST 2 months ago. Sorry for the confusion.
  • ElderGamer - August 26, 2010 12:48 a.m.

Sorry to say, but I saw these videos you keep releasing over 2 MONTHS ago on Steam. Just type Portal 2 into the search box on Steam and you'll find several of these clips available.
