Lightsabers are dangerous weapons?

According to the Mirror last week (and bear that in mind as you read on), a branch of high street chain Woolworths has restricted the sale of toy lightsabers, concerned that they could be mistaken for offensive weapons.

A Trading Standards bloke responded: "Some companies are banning the sale of any weapon-style products to anyone under the age of 18, even if they are clearly toys like these. I think it’s a bit over the top in this instance."

I should say so, especially since it's apparently the plastic £24.99 version they're talking about, and not the awesome Force FX replicas which you could really hurt somebody with - accompanied by an appropriate sound effect - if you wanted.
