LEGO Lord of the Rings trailer features LEGO decapitation

While we weren't quite sure what to expect from the forthcoming LEGO adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the plucky yet violent direction Traveller's Tales is taking in the new trailer. It's got that signature LEGO brand of silly humor sure, but it also has LEGO orcs getting sliced up all over the place.

We've also got to give credit where it's due to Traveller's Tales for that Balrog. That thing looks amazing in LEGO form. Peter Jackson should have done it in LEGOs all along. LEGO Lord of the Rings is currently scheduled for release in October of this year. If you missed it, you can also check out the first trailer released for the title.

I do love Lego game,s and this might even prove to be a fitting substitute to actually watching the films/reading the books. Hell, it might even turn out to be the opposite to normal Lego games and take on qualities of the films/books, and actually be somewhat long. Still not sure about actual voices though. I know they're already in Lego Batman 2, I just can't get my head around talking Lego men.

How exciting but as much as I am into Legos still, I just can't see myself getting around to playing this probably because I'm not that into the Lord of the Rings.

I haven't been this excited for a Lego game since Lego Star Wars II.

Why is this shaping up to be way more awesome then it should? That always puzzled me about these Lego games.
