Highlight of the Week: Toughest puzzle ever - Solved!

The hero of Unearthed has a problem. It's not just that he's in a rough-looking Saudi Arabian Uncharted rip-off and currently has very bandy legs in his unfortunate pre-alpha state. No, it's that he has the mother of all puzzles facing him down, and if he doesn't think fast - like, Einstein sliding down a greased-up lightning bolt in a zero-air-resistance environment fast - he's going to die! Probably. Maybe. To be fair, we're not really sure what will happen if he doesn't solve the puzzle, actually. But whatever. He needs to do it.

He has a fountain. That fountain is missing four bits of piping. Those four bits of piping need to be reinstalled in order to make the fountain work. But where could they be!?

This man is a genius...

Wait, that was too quick. How did he do it? I've watched it five times and I still can't work it out.
  • Arkatekt - July 1, 2011 10:56 a.m.

But... but... That's impossible! The logistics of that puzzle wouldn't allow it to complete that way!
  • BIOSback - July 1, 2011 10:58 a.m.

Is it sarcasm week at Games Radar?
  • Dared00 - July 1, 2011 11:01 a.m.

That deserves an achievement. 100G - Find the damn pipes.
  • PotOfHippoPus - July 1, 2011 11:03 a.m.

I think I've got it. He's used a cheap Stephen Moffat trick and created a time paradox. That's got to be the answer. It's the only one that makes any sense.

Blah blah blah blah 5.1 surround sound blah blah blah blah

After seeing this man's feat, I feel like I can trust the future of all mankind in his hands. He is the key to discovering limitless, efficient, renewable energy and, with him in charge, we'll be sailing the stars in less than a decade. Oh yeah, and world peace.

Nate Drake laughs heartily! Seriously, this is how they show off their crappy ripoff?
  • Sjoeki - July 1, 2011 2:59 p.m.

He is a genius, I would have needed a walkthrough to complete that puzzle! Also that "press E to pickup fountain" line is awesome, it reminded me of the whole "press X to JASON" thing, ah good times
  • centrip - July 1, 2011 3:12 p.m.

At least the water's nicely done.
  • MassBlinkEffect - July 1, 2011 3:18 p.m.

WHAT surely this comes with a tutorial? or an ask madden...
  • ZDrummer731 - July 1, 2011 3:28 p.m.

OMG thank you. I needed a walkthrough for this! I couldn't find one ANYWHERE! I've been stuck on this part for the longest freaking time. Sarcasm, by the way.
  • garnsr - July 1, 2011 4:21 p.m.

Unwhated 3 now? This is clearly the game to get. Where can I preorder?
  • QWERTYCommander - July 1, 2011 4:46 p.m.

How the hell did he solve that?
  • sirdilznik - July 1, 2011 5:36 p.m.

Wait, so you combine the broken idol head + egg yolk with the alembic and you give the produced extra crunchy toaster pastry to the mountain yeti? After that I still can't find the missing fountain parts though.
  • The_Tingler - July 1, 2011 6:09 p.m.

I'm certain there's a cat mustache involved, I just can't see where though.
  • waitingforCharlietosnap - July 1, 2011 6:50 p.m.

Dammit. I hate when you watch a walkthrough and they do the puzzle so expertly, you still don't know how they do it. I'll never beat the game at this rate.
