Highlight of the Week: A four-year old ragdoll browser game. Really.

This week, a friendly TalkRadar UK listener guided the GR UK team towards QWOP - the four-year old ragdoll Flash game that everyone - apart from us - has played already. But we learnt that being late to the party doesn't make the party any less fun.

If only we'd known about QWOP before it would have made the 100 Best Games of all Time. Probably top 10. Easy. If you haven't played it, go do that right now.

I've beaten it properly before by running. Press W and O at the same time and P and Q at the same time. When you get the timing right you'll sorta be walking properly.
  • Bobbety - April 1, 2011 11:06 p.m.

I beat it, not properly though. I kinda just made seizure all the way there.
  • MrWrighty987 - April 1, 2011 7:05 p.m.

    This game, this bastard game!
  • celticsfan645 - April 1, 2011 6:42 p.m.

This game is so hard. The farthest i have gottne is like 20 yards
  • CandiedJester - April 1, 2011 6:11 p.m.

Oh I was just shown this game a few weeks ago!! You are not alone to be late on the bandwagon! lol. And I sat there for the next two hours trying to master it. But I only got to like 36 meters I think. It's so fun.
  • GoBlue811 - April 1, 2011 4:39 p.m.

The guys who made QWOP just released a new game called GIRP. It's a lot like rock climbing and QWOP mashed together. Check it out by googling GIRP and clicking on the first link.
  • Ilyere - April 1, 2011 3:08 p.m.

I'm so good, I managed -0.7m ^^" That wasn't my best score, by the way... But wow, four years old? I only heard about it a few months ago...
  • minimaxi - April 1, 2011 2:49 p.m.

aaah good old QWOP, I was also late to the party but I remember fondly those 2 hours of non stop laughing. Like every good comedy, part of why it's so funny is because it's so brutally logical. anyone else here ended up failing by emulating Guile's flash kick the 237 bajillionth time? :D
  • killerjuan77 - April 1, 2011 2:44 p.m.

That game is so hard XD
  • JD_Method - April 1, 2011 2:36 p.m.

I just got 51.4m from hitting q,w,o,p,q,w,o,p over and over. Nobody told me there's a fucking hurdle at the 50m point though.
  • PIZZAKING92 - April 1, 2011 2:32 p.m.

100.7 meters. I qwoped the entire way lol.
  • McAwesome - April 1, 2011 2:14 p.m.

I've beaten it before. I also recommend GIRP, the same website's new rock climbing game.
  • philipshaw - April 1, 2011 1:52 p.m.

I must go play this lol
  • Markstone - April 1, 2011 1:35 p.m.

Somehow I got to 16.9 meters, how anyone can beat this is beyond me.
  • SlinkyDink - April 1, 2011 12:35 p.m.

i got 17.9 meters, but i definitely wasn't running...or walking. not sure what i'd call that movement.
  • TheHolyHandGrenade - April 1, 2011 12:15 p.m.

    I got 7m. woot!
  • R_U_Guys_From_British - April 1, 2011 12:13 p.m.

Rovio would then have another reason to talk high and almighty about the games industry they think to have cracked. Assholes.
  • ExcessGiraffe - April 1, 2011 12:08 p.m.

This is the most evil game ever created by human hands..
  • db1331 - April 1, 2011 12:08 p.m.

Forward this to Rovio. They can switch out the dude for a cartoon animal (maybe a baby deer or giraffe) and have another smash hit app for your iPhone.
  • R_U_Guys_From_British - April 1, 2011 12:07 p.m.

Holy shit this game is nigh impossible to go good with. I wonder what the global top score is?
