I hope you're sitting down: Star Wars Battlefront 2 will have a deluxe edition. I'll let you just process the shock for a moment. Dubbed the "Star Wars Battlefront 2: Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition" (try saying that five times fast), this extra-special version will cost $80 and come packed with exclusive digital goodies. What kind of goodies you ask? Well there's the…
Star Wars: The Last Jedi heroes, which include new looks for Kylo Ren and Rey, as well as new epic ability modifiers for those characters. The costumes will, of course, be based on their outfits in the upcoming film. As for abilities, Kylo Ren's allow you to freeze and pull opponents to you with the Force, while Rey's will let you control your enemies' minds and sew confusion on the… erm, battlefront.
Millennium Falcon and First Order ship upgrades. We don't know how these upgrades will affect the ships, but EA claims you'll get ability modifiers for the Falcon and an as-of-yet unrevealed First Order ship if you pick up the deluxe edition.
3 days of early access. Pretty self-explanatory, really: pick up the deluxe edition and you can wage interstellar war three days earlier than those who wait for the standard edition.
Elite Officer Upgrade Pack, containing the Blurrg-1120 weapon and enhanced grip modification, as well as the Battle Command epic ability.
Heavy Metal Upgrade Pack, containing the FWMB-10 "Megablaster" weapon and barrel vent modification, plus the Personal Shield epic ability modifier.
Armored Assault Upgrade Pack, with the CR-2 weapon and trigger modification, as well as a grenade-altering epic ability.
Master Specialist Upgrade Pack, with the A280-CFE weapon and scope modification, plus a Laser Trip Mine epic ability.
Note that if you just want the Last Jedi heroes and ship upgrades, you can also secure those by pre-ordering a standard edition. So you should only look to spend the extra cash if you really want those weapon packs and the three days of early access. That and the admittedly much cooler-looking cover art.
