Tsk Tsk, I think you're forgetting about Opposing force here. I know, I know, it's not been canonised in HL as much as Blue Shift where you got to play as Barney, but at least he made it back into HL2. I want to know what happened to Adrian Shepherd after the events of Opposing Force... I know it was a Halflife Spinoff but it still had that special half life touch to it, especially the part with "Forget about Freeman". It wasn't as long, and Shepard wasn't as memorable, but the G-man still saw him fit to put into stasis. Frankly, I'd love to see his return. Perhaps we will, when HL3 finally gets released. Who knows.

Didn't you hear? Shepard was released out of stasis hundreds of years into the future where he went on to battle the Reapers. It.....didn't end well. Seriously though I would love a return by Shepard. I always loved Opposing Force and really wanted to find out what became of him.

I speculate that Half Life 3 will never come out.

I played HL 1 and Resident Evil at the same time, both scared the bejeebus out of me. A move back to that, would be welcome.

**** Gabe Newell. He is such a lard ass who can't even comment on HL 3. He just laughs and messes with us. At this point i still want the damn game but i just cant help but feel disgust with the way this company has treated its fans. It was half life people that made Valve what it is. Not L4D, not Portal, it was us! And they can't even give us something small. **** Them i am done with Valve and their pompous ass attitude.

    Dude, seriously, chill.
  • usmovers_02 - May 21, 2012 3:15 p.m.

Ha ha! at Valve treating it's fans poorly. Valve is EASILY the most "customer first" developer/publisher out there. Seriously, name me a developer/publisher that treats it's fans better.

Yes, but Gabe Newell is fat. Checkmate.

Not sure if you have seen this yet or not, but here it is anyways. I also think that you should include this into your story, because it is a rather important recent development regarding both Portal and Half Life. http://www.blappeture.com/ It's like Gabe is speaking to us through Cave. Ha ha

Click on the circle logo. Yeah, it's not made by valve.

I just really want this to happen. Pretty sure at this point, if they do an Ep. 3, it's gotta have some confirmation of the actual H-L 3 releasing within the year. Otherwise, five years for two hours of game is going to make people even more surly. I also think H-L 3 should be the conclusion of the story. Sure, they can go back for more Barney adventures, or like Opposing Force but with some rogue Combine soldier (a little extreme, I know), but 3 has to end it. I'd hate to see my favorite FPS franchise go downhill because Gabe wants more money and Gordon Freeman will be become Sonic. Anyway, I'm saying it now: if I don't hear anything about H-L 3 (or 2: Ep. 3) by the end of the year, I'm swearing off Valve forever. It's too much.

You never know, he might turn out to be Mario. Probably not, but maybe.
  • archnite - May 21, 2012 6:42 p.m.

Does GamesRadar know something, why else would they write this story, now? Is it going to be at E3 GR? PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AM I JUST GRASPING AT STRAWS HERE OR IS OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRI- I mean HL3 really coming?

I think that the biggest reason they temporary "abandoned" the Half-life series and they didn't make a 3rd episode, was Portal. This little game was a surprise success, probably WAY more successful than they could ever think of. It came out of nowhere. Heck, people talked more about Portal than Half-life, so, it changed their plans somewhat because they had to make a Portal sequel before the internet memes stop and before the fans get tired of it. Also, it was the perfect opportunity for them to create a new big ip, i can't blame them.
