Mario and Luigi. Abbott and Costello. Sunny and Cher. All fine double acts, no doubt. But you know the thing each of them were missing? Good old fashioned slaughter to really solidify their partnerships. That’s where the grizzly duos below come into play. Inspired by our recent playthrough of Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, we’ve decide to document some of gaming’s recent, really homicidal pairings. Two murderers are better than one, after all.
Agents G and Washington
Teaming up for murderous mayhem in: House of the Dead: Overkill
Won’t somebody think of the zombies?! Undead mutants are people too, you know. And in Overkill, Washington and G set human rights back for video games zombies a good twenty years. If it’s not the über sweary Washington accusing them of having relations with their rotting mothers, it’s G popping lead in their crumbling craniums.

Mind you, we can’t stay mad at the killer cops. Complimenting each other like a Predator-style massacre and a massive mini-gun, the pair cut through the Deep South, murdering everything from zombie clowns to innocent zombie cheerleaders. Seriously, someone get Atticus Finch on the line. This shit will not stand.
Starkweather and Cash
Teaming up for murderous mayhem in: Manhunt
Turns out, snuff film directors and death row inmates go together like really, really violent bits of bacon and cheeseburgers. After the demented movie man breaks Cash out of the joint, the slaphead sociopath find himself starring in his very own video nasty.

At the mercy of Starkweather (who’s holding his family hostage), Cash spends the rest of the night taking orders from the director through a headset. Said orders usually take the form of having to off gang members with knives, hammers and… eh, plastic bags. Sadly, the start of their beautiful friendship is kinda ruined when our murderer finds Starkweather and introduces his bloated belly to the business end of a chainsaw.
Kane & Lynch
Teaming up for murderous mayhem in: Kane & Lynch/ Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
IO’s gruesome twosome really should have their own sitcom. After all, they’re gaming’s premier ultra stabby odd couple. One’s a chronically unhinged psychopath and the other’s a slightly more chronically unhinged, medicated psychopath. Forming an unlikely alliance in the first game, the pair spend their time looking sharp in designer suits, murdering more folk than smallpox and being inspired by every Michael Mann shootout ever.

In the upcoming Dog Days, they find themselves in Shanghai, admiring the historical landmarks and taking in the local culture. That or, y’know, killing loads of cops and drug dealers. Personally, we think they make quite the couple. Always finishing off each other’s insults and sharing romantic shootings; Lemmon and Matthau ain’t got anything on these boys.
