Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon listings leak

Far Cry 3's lead writer teased Joystiq about something "surprising" in the game's near future. The bengal tiger may have been let out of the bag a bit early, though, with materials emerging from multiple sources for a new release called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

"I'm working on something now that will be surprising, I think, when it's announced," lead writer Jeffrey Yohalem said. "But it definitely is a 'strike while the iron's hot' thing, and we'll see."

Meanwhile, Brazilian ratings have emerged for a first-person shooter titled Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and a NeoGAF user posted some alleged Xbox Live Arcade box art.

Is Blood Dragon a standalone downloadable expansion to Far Cry 3, in the vein of Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare? And what's with that '80s-chic neon wireframe?

We'll hopefully find out soon, but Ubisoft told IGN it has no official comment on the materials at this point.

I want a DLC in the vein of Undead nightmare, but instead of zombies, Dinosaurs! Cheesy, yes, but would be freaking fun.

...Oh my god. This would actually be SO great... It would fit so well... They'd just have to beef up the damage and resilience of animals and make them bigger and dinosaur shaped. Raptors could just be skin-swaps of Osawari's And of course boss T-Rexes here and there. and new hunting rifles and vehicles.

You beat me to it. I'm thinking at least something like a tribute/parody or whatever. The title art reminds me so much of sega genesis covers in the 90s.

I'll go ahead and call what this title is going to be about. You're going to go on another drug-induced vision quest, only this time it's to obtain dragon-like powers. Like Flight, high resistance to fire and bullets and skinning animals with your bare hands instead of needing a knife. Instead of just capturing outposts, they're actually villages that you take over by burning them to the ground with fire breath (read: molotov cocktails). The fewer passes you make, the more XP you gain. And the final boss is Jack Carver wearing a horned helmet. Oh, and it's all going to be in 16-bit, Contra-style goodness. You're welcome everyone.
