32) No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle – Wii
Part 1 was one of the only real reasons to play the Wii in 08. Suda 51 promises better graphics and more varied gameplay. Also, tons of blood.

Nathan Drake returns for more treasure hunting and take-cover shooting. Was the subtitle “Off the Beaten Path” already taken?

34) Deus Ex 3 – Multi
Long-awaited sequel to Deus Ex 1 (we don’t count the mediocre Part 2). Are we about to see the next big thing in emergent gameplay?

35) Aliens: Colonial Marines – PC, 360, PS3
Where the space marine got its start. Early screens suggest dev Gearbox is really on to something here. We can’t wait to be terrified.

36) Dark Void – PC, 360, PS3
Finally! We’ve been waiting to play as the Rocketeer for ages. Aerial antics and extraterrestrial invaders round out this adventure.

37) Pokemon Platinum – DS
An enhanced remake to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. Expect a bunch of differences that will probably warrant a purchase if you like the series.

38) Prototype – PS3, 360
Imagine the Incredible Hulk, but without the Hulk. And tons of blood. Basically, you just rip people apart and run amuck in a city. Badass.

39) Splatterhouse – PS3, 360
Speaking of blood, don a possessed a hockey mask and rip monsters apart. Also, your body noticeably takes damage and can regenerate lost limbs.

40) Punch-Out!! – Wii
Who hasn’t been looking forward to a sequel to Punch-Out? King Hippo, Glass Joe and your favorites return.

41) Fight Night Round 4 – PS3, 360
Sequel to the coolest boxing sim ever made. Details are scarce, but we’re hoping Round 4 captures the magic of the last game. Rope-a-dope!

42) Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure – DS
This year’s Professor Layton. Hatsworth combines puzzles and action gameplay, which is perfect for the DS really.

43) Infamous – PS3
Do you like free-roaming, destroy-everything action games with superhero powers? Oh, then you’ll like this.

44) WarioWare: Made in Ore – DS
WarioWare’s infectious “you have 3 seconds to beat this game” formula returns to the DS with this new sequel. How could we not be thrilled?

45) LA Noire – PS3
Little is known about Rockstar’s 1940s-based corruption story. Edge speculates that this could be the biggest budget game in development ever. We just want it.

46) Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep – PSP
Prequel to the awesome KH series, BBS has three scenarios with three different play styles. Once again you’ll attack the Heartless in Disney-themed worlds.

47) Red Faction Guerilla – PS3, 360
Now in third-person, use a smattering of weapons to destroy enemies and your environment.

48) Saboteur – PS3, 360
Everything’s black and white in Nazi-occupied France. Literally. Use your fists to pummel the Third Reich and make France color again.

49) Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena – PC, PS3, 360
Escape from Butcher Bay with an extended campaign and more gloss. Considering that game rocked, we’re excited.

50) Wanted: Weapons of Fate
Based on that twisty-bullet movie from last summer, Wanted looks a little like Stranglehold, except you can twist bullets.

51) White Knight Chronicles – PS3
Realistic sword fight battles pepper this awesome-looking RPG from the makers of Dark Chronicle and Dragon Quest VIII.

52) Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising – PC, PS3, 360
Probably the most realistic war game ever devised, OF2 looks great, especially when you consider the scale of the game is a gigantic, free-roaming island.

53) Bayonetta – PS3, 360
Directed by the creator of Devil May Cry, Bayonetta is a monster-fighting witch who has guns on her feet and hands.

54) DC Universe Online – PS3, PC
An MMORPG set within the DC universe. You don’t choose as one of the heroes/villains, but you can fight alongside ‘em.

55) I Am Alive – PS3, 360
A 10.3 magnitude earthquake has destroyed Chicago. As a regular guy, you need to find your ex-girlfriend and navigate the dangerous elements to survive.

56) Perfect Prosecutor – DS
A spin-off of the hilarious adventure series Ace Attorney, Perfect Prosecutor plays more like a point-and-click adventure game than before. Objection!

57) Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II – PC
Sequel to the well-received Dawn of War, part 2 contains numerous tweaks to the single-player formula, yet also includes a co-op multiplayer campaign.

58) The Conduit – Wii
Developed to be visually comparable to PS3/360 graphics, High Voltage and Sega’s action game is looking to be the next big Wii FPS. We hope it’ll be able to hang with the hi-def crowd.

59) X-Men Origins: Wolverine – PS3, 360
The first badass Wolverine game ever? Aiming for the Mature rating, Wolvie gets to finally use his claws with reckless abandon. So long limbs, hello viscera. Also, a tie-in for the new movie.

60) Dissidia: Final Fantasy – PSP
A one-on-one 3D fighting game starring the heroes and villains of past FF games. Earn EXP and Gil in battle for better equipment. Making a shitton of money in Japan right now.

61) Dante’s Inferno – PS3, 360
In the 1300s, Dante wrote The Divine Comedy, about a trip through the allegorical view of the Christian afterlife. In the trailer for this EA game, an adventurer stabs a demon in the head with a cross. Hell yeah.

62) Battlefield Heroes – PC
A free-to-play Battlefield using cartoonish graphics (like TF2). The only microtransactions here are to customize your character. Everything else is free… and awesome.

63) FEAR 2: Project Origin – PC, PS3, 360
Creepy, psychic little girl Alma is back to scare the piss out of you. Expect more soldiers and mechs to obliterate in slow-motion, while struggling to keep your sanity.

64) Wolfenstein – PC, PS3, 360
Sadly now Cyborg Hitler-less, Wolfenstein marks a(nother) return to the Nazi castle. Fight the Third Reich and monsters!

65) Afro Samurai – PS3, 360
Based off the hip hop anime, you’ll slice your way towards the evil dude who not only murdered your father, but also the best samurai in the land.
