EA announces Windows Phone 7 games, Xbox LIVE integration included

EA has just revealed their plans for the Windows Phone 7, announcing the first round of titles scheduled to release for the new mobile platform. With full Xbox LIVE integration, the titles will offer a new outlet for achievement whoring and more.

Here is the first round of titles EA plans to publish for the Windows Phone 7:

Need for Speed Undercover
Tetris
The Sims 3
Monopoly

You will be able to send messages to their XBL friends, see what games they're playing, and even earn achievements on Windows Phone 7 games, which will contribute to your XBL gamerscore.

The new EA mobile games will be available alongside the launch of Windows Phone 7, which should be out sometime this November. EA also promises to have more games available early next year, when the next slate of Windows Phone 7 devices are expected to be ready to hit the market.

Hate to miss out on some cheevos, but I would never factor it into a phone purchase decision. Gotta buy the games anyway.I am not a super achievement whore because I rarely play a game more to get achievements, but I do play games I probably would not have played to get a good chunk of points from a play through. Oh well, probably only miss out on a small amount of points. I can't really see these games getting much if any points above the 200 XBLA games get.

Thanks to whoever deleted the spammer comments!

I'm looking forward to getting a new WP7 device in November. I'm going for the Samsung Focus myself. I will use it for work and personal use though. And since I do a lot of work with Microsoft products because of my work it will fit in nicely. The tight Exchange and Office Integration is exciting for someone like me. However the Xbox Live Achievements appeal to the Achievement Whore in me :-) This I feel will be a competent OS but it's not going to dethrone the iPhone anytime soon.

GOD WHAT'S WITH ALL THE AD/SPAM COMMENTS? Seriously though, this thread has ten comments and 6 are freaking ad/spammers! (11 comments i guess if you include mine, but that still means spam is over 50%) ((To those websites that do this shit, i will never visit your site, and i hope no one does.)) Sorry for the rant. Now to a comment that actually pertains to the article. I'm excited to see how WP7 fares, i feel like if it's done right it could grab alot of gamers.

I imagine this will get as much support and effort put into it as the zune and kin and avatar rewards and........

Windows Phone 7 is the next iteration of the Windows-based mobile OS, like iOS or Android. I was quite excited for this. I wanted it to be awesome, but if that's the line up they can muster, this whole mess looks abysmal.

What exactly is the windows phone 7? Is it the "iPhone" but 'windows'? Or is it just XBL on the go?

And knowing Microsoft, there will be an addition charge to access Xbox Live on the phone.
