Welp, I guess this is it... BUT IF I'M GOING OUT I'LL BE DAMNED IF I DON'T DO IT IN STYLE!!! *Slams Jack Daniels bottles on computer desk*

Nah jokes, despite being Australian I actually don't drink, I can give some ideas for other rules. General: - Drink whenever someone verbally tiptoes around discussing the power difference between the Xbox One and the PS4. - Drink whenever a game is unceremoniously delayed. - Drink whenever a game is mentioned to run at 1080p, finish the drink if the game only runs at 30fps as a result. EA: - Drink whenever they talk about something you feel may be part of some evil corporate master plan. - Drink when sports. - Drink whenever there's an uncomfortable level of pandering to the sports obsessed audience while talking about one of their new sports titles. - Drink whenever animation is brought up during a sports title trailer/demo. - Drink when Star Wars. - Drink when you finally get to see the Mirrors Edge 2/Star Wars Battlefront trailer you've been waiting for the entire conference. Ubisoft: - Drink whenever they announce/show off a sequel. - Drink when the new Assasin's Creed still isn't in Japan. - Drink whenever they mention pre-order bonuses. - Drink whenever a smaller scale downloadable title is announced/talked about. - Drink for every game announced that isn't Beyond Good and Evil 2. - Drink if Beyond Good and Evil 2 is announced. (Preferably some of that champagne you have in case the Last Guardian gets announced). - Drink when they announce a big new ip at the end of the conference. Microsoft: - Drink whenever one of the big 3 appear (Halo/Gears of War/Forza). - Drink if Microsoft actually decides to do something with one of Rare's IP's. (Killer Instinct doesn't count since Season 2 is already confirmed to be showing up at E3). - Take a piss break from drinking too much when Call of Duty has it's stage demo. - Drink whenever you're confused about how a game being announced even works (see Quantum Break). Sony: - Drink if a Naughty Dog IP that isn't Uncharted or the Last of Us gets a new game. - Drink if a large game announcement at the conference turns out to actually be multi-platform. Nintendo: - Drink if a new F-Zero/Star Fox is finally announced. - Drink when Nintendo does an e-shop showcase. - Drink if Nintendo announces an update to link Wii-U and 3DS accounts. - Drink if Retro is working on a new Metroid. - Drink whenever something incredibly bizarre yet hilarious occurs during the direct and they proceed with the direct completely ignoring it ever happened. - Drink whenever a new meme is born, finish your glass if it involves Reggie. - Drink whenever a new character is announced in Smash Bros. (Not returning characters, I'm mean but I'm not a complete monster). - Drink when a remake is announced. EMERGENCY: Finish your drink and find a safe shelter in the case of Half Life 3 being announced.

I couldn't care less if The Last Gaurdian is announced. I would have liked to have scene it but at some point it has been delayed to long. I have moved on.
  • theguyinthecloset - June 5, 2014 2:11 p.m.

But Iwata wont be at E3 :(
  • shawksta - June 5, 2014 5:01 p.m.

The Digital Event is a pre-recorded one, with Iwata in it. Plus it doesnt matter much, last year Iwata was barely shown in the showfloor, it was mostly Reggie, Miyamoto and Bill.

I think if i replace the alcohol with, say, a gallon of milk I think the pain would still be equally the same lol
  • mafyooz - June 5, 2014 10:24 a.m.

...Game on, Mr Houghton. I'll be nipping out tomorrow for a few crates of Old Rosie scrumpy and a Last Well and Testament form then ;)

Thanks Hooters, my liver salutes you. Also, obviously you and the GR UK team will be partaking in this challenge to set an example. Please post the video for us all to watch.
  • BlueBoboDoo100 - June 5, 2014 9:16 a.m.

I'll shotgun a 40-ounce if Sony actually gets Lawrence Fishburne to present the Morpheus on-stage.
  • TheGreyWizard - June 5, 2014 9:03 a.m.

I will drink a bottle of Vodka if The Last Guardian does appear.
  • Vonter - June 5, 2014 8:43 a.m.

I think I'll take my own bets: Drink for every next gen only game releasing this year shown at the press conference. Drink for every Nintendo new IP they'll show [1] Drink for every price cut that hasn't been announced. Drink for a game with 7+ development cycle getting an definite release date. Drink all if: The Last Guardian comes this year. Ridley is a playable character in Smash Microsoft announce they're working on another Rare IP Ubisoft shows gameplay of a new Beyond Good & Evil EA states an undoubtedly consumer friendly decision Capcom announces a new Megaman game Cheers.
  • shawksta - June 5, 2014 9:52 a.m.

I dont see it a low chance of Microsoft working on another Rare IP, as much as of it actually being RARE making the IP. Look at Killer Instinct, it didnt even need Rare.
  • Vonter - June 5, 2014 9:58 a.m.

But they really took their time to make it. Rare has several IPs that could add to the Xbone; Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps (now that game could have a fun Kinect minigame like using a giant gorilla robot to wreck buildings), freaking Conker (they could even make a series from that, and could be a neat adult comedy), Banjo Kazooie (having a 3D platformer even a single one could add diversity to their lineup), or a digital revival for Battletoads could also be cool. I don't know it just seems they could outsource a lot of these IPs and see what sticks, in the end it'll sell Xbones outside of the expected dudebro.
  • shawksta - June 5, 2014 10:08 a.m.

Oh i know. My point is that even if they have a game to bring back and a make a new game, there's a chance it wont even be Rare to make it.
  • Vonter - June 5, 2014 10:15 a.m.

Rare is a shell from his former self, even more now that Microsoft fire whoever of value was left in after they ditched the Kinect. If anything I think only a composer is left of the former team. But in the end the only value Microsoft has the IPs and they don't use them, not even as easter eggs, references or anything, and that's really lame. Even Nintendo while not making another Star Fox throws a bone here or there about that franchise (the blue marine is now available in the Steel Divers game for example).
  • shawksta - June 5, 2014 11:24 a.m.

Yeah, the closest was Kinect Sports Rivals update getting Rare series clothing but thats it.
  • winner2 - June 5, 2014 8:03 a.m.

I think I know someone who might actually survive this game. It also depends on what exactly you're drinking. And your nationality , maybe. And jeez, it feels like last year's e3 was just recently.
