Crytek devs dropping into Crysis 2 multiplayer demo this Saturday

It's kill Crytek weekend on Xbox Live! This Saturday, studio staffers at Crytek will be logging on to the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo to take on any Xbox Live member who dares to challenge them on their home turf.

The promotion will take place during Microsoft's Free Gold Weekend, this Saturday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm PST and 11:00 pm to 2:00 am GMT. A full list of Crytek gamertags has been posted to the site, along with a multiplayer video briefing to level the playing field for those of us who haven't spent the last year or so of our lives getting acquainted with the maps.

Earlier this week, Crytek responded to criticisms over an abundance of bugs and glitches in the multiplayer demo, issuing a statement on their forums that read: "We do understand that a few players are having technical issues with the demo. We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible, we apologize if it is affecting your experience. We appreciate your patience and support."

It isn't likely that Crytek will iron out all the kinks in the demo by this Saturday, but one can bet that after the devs have their fun this Saturday, they'll be working overtime to polish up Crysis 2 for its official release on March 22.

My lame PS3 won't let me play anything online since yesterday :( I can sign in and everything, but any online game (PSH, killzone 2, uncharted 2) it won't connect :( I guess no demo for meee

I like the demo really do but every so often I run into bugs or stupid connection problems it seems impossible to play using party chat too

I've enjoyed the demo so far. It would seem that as of yesterday the host has a big advantage. I was playing Crash Site(or whatever HQ is called) and if i was host i'd go very positive; not host and i'd be lucky to break even. Seemed like what should have been hits were not registering and lag was pretty noticeable at times as well. If they manage to iron out the kinks it could replace MW2 as my go-to competitive MP experience, but as is i'll just be playing solo on release day.

I love it. Doing a running slide in front of an enemy while blasting them with a shotgun as you slide is awesome. I've had a couple problems (the game spawned me with the other team at the start of a match, that was a fast death), but it mostly works really well. I'm guessing that the 6 vs 6 matches and lack of vehicles means no Power Struggle mode (damn it), but I'll probably buy this game when it comes out.

@Lemurian Probably because it's the 360 version? Of course it won't look as good on the 360.

the demo is awesome i didnt expect it to be so much fun one thing though is that the graphics didnt blow me away as much as i thought they would i mean compared to crysis 1 on the pc this looks nowhere near as good as that
