Hello, and welcome to the first ever Mario Party 2 FAQ/Walkthrough!
Mario Party 2 is a party multiplayer game, as you could read from the
title. This is the sequel to the first Mario Party, which was a hit, but
wasn't as ambitious a project as the sequel. Prepare to explore the wild
west, go out into space, and explore ye old pirate ship in search of the
best superstar. Good luck, and have fun!

Due to the close release of the game, I am not taking precautions so
people cannot steal my FAQ and put it on other websites, put it on their
FAQ. There _WILL_ be something put on here (infact, it's on it right NOW)
that makes me know if the person is copying off my FAQ or not. So, do
yourself a favor, and don't get my FAQ, games.de, and everybody else. =P
Thank you. I just thought this would add a nice, serious touch to the
10.31.99 - v2.9 aka "The Suspicious Version"
The fourth public version. Let's here it for the second Mario Party 2
FAQ! Of course, we all know Dallas took a bit of my info from my FAQ. =P
No offense Dallas, if you're reading this, but um, isn't it SO odd we both
have prices up for the SAME five items? That is rather coincidental, now
isn't it? =| Well, no problems if you did, just inputting my thought into
into it, as it is too much of a coincidince. Moving on... tomorrow's the
big Y2K! I guessing I'll meet you guys at Times Square? Am I actually
going? Um, well... I went in 1997 celebrating 1998, so well, I live in New
Jersey, and umm... er, well, I'll meet you there. ^_^

(Oh yes, Dallas, might I add that it's kinda impossible to not have
forgotten about Mario Clash & Mario Tennis on the VB...another odd
opinion of mine. Again, no worries. =P)

10.30.99 - v2.2 aka "The Extra Info, But Not Really Info Version"
The third public version. Extra info, and new info in this edition, as I
am trying to get my FAQ up somwhere to 30K by the new year, which I think
is not likely to happen, as my FAQs tend to stay at 20-something-K. =P
This is also a milestone for the FAQ (I think), because one section is
actually 1/4 completed, the minigame section. Sure, it may seem like a lot
of info to you (or it may not), but I have a bunch of other things I will
want to add in the future.

- Updated revision history... bet you already knew that!

  * Same quote, but rephrased, because it made no sense.

10.29.99 - v1.4 aka "The Goofball Version"
The second public version. I made big errors in my disclaimer, because
all I did was copied the disclaimer from my Pokemon G/S FAQ, and then
pasted it without editing anything. Apparantly, this game is now owned
by Pikachu... -_-; I also fixed lots of wordwrapping, so people wouldn't
have to scroll left-right.

10.28.99 - v1.0 aka "The Rushed Version"
The first public version. I updated alot of things in this one, and added
things to it too. Wow, I can't believe Y2K is this close...the horror, the
horror! (Well, we survived the day of Lavos, surely we could survive a bug)
Anyways, this will also be known as the "Rushed" version because I
rushed through this a little bit. Hence, not alot of info!

Non-Playable Characters:

He gives you stars, and gives you advice, as in Mario Party 1. He really
isn't all he used to be as before though, because stars are only worth
50 coins in this game, and not as useful as Mario Party 1.
Not much of an entrance this game. He's rarely seen unless you happen to
like using the Bowser Bomb alot. He grows from Baby Bowser.
Finally, Baby Bowser makes a comeback! He's really one of the important
characters in this game, because he chases you around the board to steal
your coins. Watch out for him. He can become Big Bowser with the help
of a Bowser Bomb.
He blocks the way in certain spots in Mystery Land. Watch out for him,
because he could either make your life easier, or badder.

Items, Items, Items. Can't go wrong without them.

-Win them in Item Games. Land on an Item Space to play an Item Game.
-Purchase them from the Item Shop.

Boo Bell

Description - Ring this handy bell to summon Boo. After you summon it,
you can ask Boo to steal stars or coins from your rivals.

Usefullness - 10/10 (if used correctly)
                0/10 (to rival)
Bowser Bomb

Description - This turns Baby Bowser to a grown not-so-baby Bowser. This
item has a randomlike mystery to it because you can never
be too sure where Bowser is, and how many spaces he goes
              to chase you.

Usefullness - 7/10 (if used correctly)
              RANDOM (if used correctly)
Bowser Suit

Description - When you put this on, not only will you look like a weird,
laughable maniac, but you also get to steal people's coins!
This leads to a life of crime though, and no one would want
to be hunted down, do they? :D
Dueling Glove

Descrpition - Ah, the nice game of duels. Use this Dueling Glove to fight
a dueling game...once done, it cannot be undone. Just make
              sure you win!

Price - 15 Coins
Magic Lamp

Description - Magic, possibly? Yes, in a sense. This 'magic' lamp takes
you, the player, and only you, straight to Toad, which you
know what you get... a star!

Price - 10 Coins

Ah, minigames, the heart of Mario Party 2...

Win the game, you can (possibly) get an item. Lose the game, you lose
something. Nice payoff, bad losing...enjoy. Oh yes, you recieve a random
prize unless you do amazingly well, in that case, you choose from a couple
and pick one.

Hot Bob-Omb!

Hey, it the usual type of minigame, meaning it's the most common. Most
of the time everyone's by themselves, although group effort is sometimes
needed, like "Running of the Bulb" in Mario Party 1.

Lava Tile Isle - Remember in Super Mario 64 in the fire world where the
tiles would constantly move where the red coins were?
Well, this is kinda like that. Only they have bigger
blocks, and this time, not only is the fire against
you, but add to that three opponents! Boy, are you in
for a hot blast (no pun intended).

Shell Shocked! - Ooh, a 4-player deathmatch-esque game. Well, what I mean
is split screen. =| Anyways, you have all these red/green
shells flying everywhere, and to make it simple, you try
not to get hit. ^_^ You have cannon barrels for cover,
but three opponents could hit you at one time, meaning,
bye bye. I suggest you bribe a partner to kill the other
                 person in this game. =P

Toad in a Box - No, you don't rotate the control stick as fast as you
can to make Toad pop out the box. You jump up, and hope
you get the box with Toad on it facing front. First person
to do that 5 times is the winner.
                CONTROLS: A = Jump
                RATING: 8/10

Mecha Marathon - Mecha Shy Guys! And you don't have to curse at them for
rotating them so much this time around! =D Press A+B
alternatively as fast as you can to build up momentum.
First Shy Guy to the finish line, or whoever goes the
                 farthest wins! =D
                 CONTROLS: A = Rotate
                           B = Rotate
                 RATING: 7/10

Roll Call! - Geezum, this games like math class, both un-innovative
and hard. You count the number of Bob-Ombs before they blow
up, then subtract the # of Bob-Ombs originally from the # of
Bob-Ombs left that didn't blow up. Closest answer wins.

             RATING: 2/10
COMMENTS: Sob, sob, sob, sob. This is one of the weirdest
minigames I've ever had to play in my life. It's
like math class... what?! Ok, not like I'm not
good in Math, I ace it all the time, but who
thought of this messed up minigame?! I'm sorry if
you like it, it's just not my taste.

Abandon Ship! - Ahh! Rising water! Help! Drown! Now! Climb! Up! Using! Up!
Button! On! Controller! Watch out for pesky little bugs
that will make you move from left to right, and not just
                straight up!

                CONTROLS: Up = Move Up
                          Left  = Move Left
                          Right = Move Right
                RATING: 9/10
COMMENTS: Umm, ok, so who thought of this fun game? It's
very how do you say 'creative'?

Totem Pole Pound - Wow...Toad in a Box was fun. But this, you just pound
the boxes. In a fun and lively manner. How nice. How
'original'. The higher you're in the air before you do
a butt-stomp is how low you drive the totem pole into
                   the ground.

                   CONTROLS: A+Z = Butt Stomp
                   RATING: 3/10
COMMENTS: Exact reverse of Toad in a Box. You go up,
you go down. Repeat for 30 seconds or until
                             somebody wins. Yay.

OK, now I'm getting you... in these games, most of the time, the lone

Dueling minigames, a new addition to the minigames, is strictly 1-on-1.
uno on uno. One player against one player. Use a dueling glove to fight
and challenge someone. These games usually don't take long...

Saber Swipes - Ay ye fellows swashbucklers. Ye play a gae by the name of
Saber Swipes. First player to mash in the correct sword
techniques win. While the other, well, you're playing with
               swords, after all...

Quick Draw - Bang! Bang! Ever see the wild west version of a shootout?
You know, when they both face away from each other, and then
turn around and shoot the other? This is really the same
exact thing... except with fake 'guns'.

Time Bomb - A sci-fi version of Bowser Balloon Burst from the previous
Mario Party, except the other way around. You don't blow
up the bomb, silly. You defuse it. First one to defuse it
            is the winner!

Mushroom Brew - Ah, soup lovers would love this,... or not. Match the
button commands as they come in. For example, if there
is the 'A' button, press the A button. C^, press C^.
                Continue until winner wins.

Psychic Safari - Psyche up your mind for this one! It's Psychic Safari,
the game not for the mentally-challenged! Press A & B
repeatadly. Then, the two mushrooms duke it out, ala
                 mental style!

                 CONTROLS: A = Psyche Up
                           B = Psyche Down
                 RATING: 7/10
COMMENTS: Hehe, funny game. Nice mushrooms. They look
                           so smooth. =P

Rock, Paper, Mario - Yes... Rock, Paper, Scissors. Only with three Mario
characters. In this case, Peach, Mario, and Bowser.
Bowser beats Peach. Peach beats Mario. Mario beats
Bowser. Repeat. Winner of 2 games wins.

During the course of the game, you receive hidden minigames from the
Minigame Park if you buy the usual minigames, do well in them, etc.
So, go out and buy them!

Rainbow Run
Dungeon Dash
Driver's Ed
1) Whoever is talking has a image next to the text.
2) Obviously better graphics to minigames and boards.
3) Less 3D in board map, and more 3D in minigames.
ex. When you are nearing a Thwomp, instead of going to a new screen,
and it being in 3D, you stay in the same screen and all you see
       is a text box.
ex. Also, when you buy something, it isn't 3D, and you can't actually
       see the item until later.

1) More minigames...
2) Minigames no longer have the control stick rotating games, thank god.
3) A+B button mashing is back, and in even more minigames!
4) Minigames take longer this time around.

1) Stars are not all they seem to be anymore. You trade in a star for
50 coins. Coins rule, Stars drool... :|
Yes, this... blah blah non-sense. Well, you'll be surprised on how much
power this section of the page has! =D (look, I like anime with big eyes!)

For smart people:

Don't steal this FAQ/Walkthrough unless, I, Lickitung, the author of this,

OK, now this is the kind of stuff I recieve daily:

People asking me for help in a game. This is fine with me and I will
respond back as soon as I can, or put it in the FAQ in the next version of
the FAQ.

Telling me 'great job', 'nice work', etc. I might, or might not respond to
this, depending on certain conditions.

This tells me something like, 'good job, but can you help me with
something in the game?' I respond to these, as well.

HATE MAIL (1/8):
I must say I really don't recieve any (it's like a 1:100000 ratio), but
just incase, I must say I find these sometimes amusing, unless it's a
piece of constructive critcism, which is fine with me.

I rarely get these, and I'm not gonna start to. DON'T SEND ME THESE!

MISC (3/8):
These are misscellaneous letters from friends, junk mail, etc. You
wouldn't want to care...

Those who don't stand by these rules will have their mailbox full of pr0n
mailing lists. You wouldn't want that, would you? :D
