writing skills haven't rusted yet. Anyway, I'm quite sure this will be a

Class Points & Skill Points                                          [02b-1]

The concept of learning abilities for your characters in Xenosaga II, is
completely different from it's predecessor. So I'll start off by explaining
this. There are a total of 4 skill levels, which are then divided into 8
classes (Class A - Class H). Though Level 4 only has 4 classes.

Skill Levels that are accessible to you are marked with the word "PASS",
otherwise the selection will be grayed out. Now in order to learn a skill,
you'll need to have sufficient "Class Points" (CPt) to unlock the class
where the said skill is located. Then use the required amount of "Skill
Points" (SPt) to learn the ability itself.

New skill levels become accessible, once you've learned all the skills
in any class within the previous level.

Class Points are gained by defeating bosses, learning all the skills
within a single class, or by using "Class Upgrade" items.

Skill Points are a lot more common than Class Points, and are gained from
defeating bosses as well as normal enemies, or by using "Skill Upgrade"
items.

Event Slots                                                          [02b-2]

The Event Slot is displayed at the lower-right corner of your screen. The
sequence in which the slots are showed follow this order: CTC -> BST -> SKL
-> "Random Slot".

CTC - Chances of landing a critical hit increases by 50%.
BST - Increases charge rate of boost gauge.
SKL - Increases the amount of Skill Points received from enemies.
      (x2, x4 or x10)
ETR - Ether damage and healing increases by 50%
TC  - (Turn Cancel) Target loses turn when damaged by an attack.
RV  - Target's boost gauge charges when attacked.
NON - No effect.

Zones & Breaking                                                     [02b-3]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Knowing how to take advantage of enemy weak zones, is the key to winning
battles in this game. You'll get wiped out pretty often (even by normal
enemies) if you don't get a hang of this entire concept early. So to
those who aren't sure how zones work, pay attention.

First off, enemies are categorized into 3 types: Mechanical (M),
Biological (B), and Gnosis (G).

There are 3 types of zones: A, B, and C, and is displayed at the upper-left
corner of your screen. You are allowed to execute 2 consecutive PHYSICAL
attacks using the square and triangle buttons, while only 1 ETHER-type
attack with the O button. Also be sure to remember this:

The O, [], and Triangle buttons target the A, B, and C zones respectively.

Now if you managed to exploit an enemy's weak zone, (the letters will be
shown in red) you'll be able to "Break" them. Thus allowing you to deal
more damage. (x1.5) For example, a U-TIC Soldier's weak zone is BB so
in this case I'll attack with [] twice, to break him.

Some enemies however require more than 2 button combinations to break.
(usually bosses) Therefore you'll need to use 2 characters to accomplish
this task. Here's how to break an enemy with a weak zone of BCBB:

Have Character A attack with [] and Triangle (BC), then boost Character B
and have him attack with [] twice (BB). Take note that Character B must be
boosted BEFORE Character A completes his attack sequence in order for this
whole thing to work.

Occasionally, a successful break earns you a "Break Bonus". This gives
you a stock.

The other thing that must be mentioned is the AIR and DOWN effect, which
doubles the amount of damage received by your target. Air or Down can be
executed in 3 steps:

- Stock up your characters to at least 2. (A full stock is more effective)
- Break your opponent.
- Press O repeatedly. (this will depend on how many stocks you have)

Once that's done, keep boosting your characters to keep the effect active
for as long as possible.

To determine which characters can cause Air or Down, look at the bottom-
left corner of the screen. The arrow points upward for AIR, and downward
for DOWN.

Stocking & Boosting                                                  [02b-4]

The Stock Gauge is located at the top of your screen, just below a
character's EP value. Press X during battle to open the command menu, and
choose STOCK. This adds a stock to your Stock Gauge. (3 max) Having a full
gauge allows a character to execute 5 consecutive attacks.

The Boost Gauge is located at the lower-right corner of the screen. Press
R1 or R2 buttons to open the Boost Window and press the designated button to
boost a character. You need a value of at least 1 on your Boost Gauge in
order to use this function. Also remember that only characters whose icons
aren't showing, at bottom-right corner of the screen can be boosted.

Double Attacks & Ether Combos                                        [02b-5]

A double attack is performed by 2 cooperating characters, and is much more
powerful than any other single character attack. But the requirements needed
to execute one, are no less difficult to attain. To perform a double attack:

Stock up both characters A & B to the amount required for the attack. Now
on Character A's turn, boost Character B. Then with character A, open the
command menu and choose "DOUBLE". From there, pick the attack you want to
use. Remember that a Double Attack for a pair of characters, can only be
used once per battle.

Ether Combos require 2 characters to execute. So of course you'll have to
use boost. In order to form a combo, both the current and boosted characters
must have the same ether skill. Next choose ETHER from the command menu,
pick your desired skill and press TRIANGLE. A new window should appear if
you can form a combo from it, otherwise pick a different ether skill.

are pretty much self-explanatory.

If you have a Xenosaga Episode I clear data, load it to unlock Swimsuits
for both Ziggy and KOS-MOS. Along with bonus class & skill points.

OLD MILTIA                                                             [03a]

After the opening cut-scene, you'll be controlling the E.S. Asher. Continue
forward a bit and you'll encounter a save point, access it and save your
game. Follow the path until you get to an intersection, then head left.
Destroy the wreckage here for a treasure chest with a POWER SHIELD. Proceed
southeast to the next area, for another cut-scene.

Approach the A.M.W.S. once you regain control, to initiate a battle
tutorial. Just follow whatever instructions you're given. Also just some
notes about the traps -- Destroying these things will freeze enemies in
place, should they come in contact with the purple wave. In addition, it
will also have various effects during battle. The YELLOW trap gives you
STOCK BONUS while the RED one gives you BOOST BONUS. (These effects apply
to character battles as well.) So be sure to use them to your adavantage.

You'll have to continue your journey on foot, with Jin in your party. This
is a good time to start learning abilities for your characters. (If you
loaded your XS Episode I clear data.) Otherwise this would have to wait till
later. Save your game and move on east. You'll come across a large pile of
rubble to your right, blow them up -- one of the large tanker at the back
will reveal another treasure chest containing a REVIVE S. Head back to the
main path and continue to the next area.

Here, approach the UTIC Soldier to initiate your first of 2 tutorials
regarding character battles. Further down, there will be a destructible
part on the left wall, blow it up to reveal SEGMENT ADDRESS #14. Then
approach another UTIC Soldier for your final tutorial. After that continue
onwards a bit and climb the ladder to your left. At the end of the path,
destroy the crate for 3 SKILL UPGRADE Ds. Go back down and proceed to the
next area.

Just follow the road east, blowing up the green rings on the pillars along
the way. One of them contains a BIO SPHERE. Go on to the next area, to
trigger yet another cut-scene. Once you regain control, save your game and
continue forward, blowing up obstructions as you go. At the next area,
watch some more cut-scenes, followed by a boss fight.

One way to make quick work out of this battle is to have both Jin and chaos
use their Double Attack: Ice Brand. So first, attack with your characters
until you get your boost gauge up to 1. Then Stock both of them up to 2, and
use Ice Brand. This should deal about 700+ damage on Margulis. After that,
just attack him a few more times; and that's it. You might want to finish
him off when the "BST" icon appears on the Event Slot, for some extra Skill
Points. Since he automatically counters with a final attack that moves the
slots ahead by 1.

You'll have to watch some mighty long cut-scenes after this, so sit back for
a while.

SECOND MILTIA CITY A                                                   [03b]

You'll regain control of Ziggy at the Spaceport. Head down a bit for a save
point, so save your game if you want. There really isn't much to see here,
but you can check out the monitor to the right of this area, for some
information. When you're done, proceed south to leave.

After that cut-scene, you'll have control of Jr. at the warehouse. Save
your game, defeat the enemy and climb the stairs. Blast the crates here,
and head out the door to your right. From here, head west down the stairs
and blow up the box for 5 SKILL UPGRADE As. Go back, then east down
the other stairs to the next area.

Keep heading north and blow up the gate at the end. Let the water take
you to the area below. Climb the ladder and go north. Blast through the
boxes, (the second one has an ANTIDOTE L inside.) follow the path and
climb the ladder to the next area. There will be a short cut-scene.

When you reagin control, blast through the door and keep following the
path until you reach the next area. The containers along the way has
an ETHER PACK S and 2 REVIVE S.

Head south and a giant robot (Executus Sagitta) will chase you. Keep
running until it catches up, then defeat it. After that battle, move
on and climb the stairs to proceed/

Here, soldiers will drop from a helicopter to engage you, so once again,
defeat them. Once done, run ahead then turn right when you see an opening.
Destroy the table for 2 REVIVE S. Go back out and move on, take a right at
the end, and blast the wall. Save your game. Ride the elevator up to the
next area.

Note: Coming in contact with the moving fence will trigger battles. So I
      recommend that you fight a bit here to gain a few levels. Not to
      mention there's a save point nearby, so just touch it to heal.

Climb down the stairs and head west. Destroy the boxes -- one of the large
crates contains 2 BIO SPHERES. Move on a bit and you'll be ambushed by a
"mini" boss.

This is another easy fight. Your party should consist of: Jr., MOMO, and
"whoever". (preferably one that has learned curative ethers, and Thunder
Sword) Once the battle begins, stock both Jr. and MOMO to full, then have
your third character cast "Thunder Sword" on both of them. Just attack with
the O circle button afterwards, while boosting whenever possible -- to take
full advantage of the "break" effect.

Head north, get on the crane and blast it. Climb the ladder just a little
bit east of your current position, in front. Go across the makeshift bridge
to the next area. Just keep going forward, blasting obstacles, and defeating
enemies. You'll reach the area with a save point, so of course make use of
it. Proceed through the left door.

Climb all those flights of stairs (while being chased down by mechs) and,
exit through the door up north when you reach the top. Some more cut-scenes,
then another boss fight.

Once again, I recommend having both Jr. and MOMO in your party, mainly
because of the Pierce Attribute in their attacks. As for the third
character, someone that has curative ethers and Thunder or Aura Sword.

Stock up both of your attackers (Jr. and MOMO) to full, and your final
party member cast Thunder Sword on both of them. Also having Jr. cast
Attacker on himself should help you end this fight even quicker. Unleash
combos when the "Critical" Event Slot is shown.

Richard (Pilum) attacks with Impulsion -- which causes L Weak (Physical
Defense Down) most of the time. It's not that powerful, but L Weak will
leave you very vulnerable to Hermann's (Scutum) offensives. So just use
Refresh L to remove the status. Scutum's attacks are also quite weak,
except Sentenza so watch out for that.

After all those cut-scenes, you'll regain control of Shion at Second Miltia.
There will be 6 different areas on the map, but only one matters for now --
the City. It's the central area on the map. Go in there. Save your game and
revisit Old Miltia using the U.M.N. device.

In Old Miltia, proceed to the second screen. Stick to the left side of the
area, and destroy both objects that are blocking the entrance to the front
of the building. From there, head east, blow up the vending machine near the
end for 2 MED KIT S. Back-track to the opposite direction, and move on to
the next area. Follow the path, press the switch at the end to lower the
ladder. Descend, and keep going left until you reach the treasure chest with
a BIO SPHERE. Exit the U.M.N. via the main menu.

Back to Second Miltia. Proceed to Sector 2 by taking a right, just before
you reach the Doctor's Clinic. Talk to the Bunny mascot. It'll introduce
you to the Global Samaritan (GS) Campaign. Be prepared for a lengthy
explanation, or just say "Of course" as an answer to it's second question
to receive the GS Path immediately. Move on to Sector 2.

Here, head up the escalator, head north and enter the Area 40 Publishing
Agency. Inside proceed to the top of the agency, and enter the door to
your right. Destroy the crates at the back of the Storage Room for a BOOST
MAX. Blow up the cabinet to your left to reveal SEGMENT ADDRESS #3.

Leave the building, continue left around the corner and you'll meet
Angelina, Sgt. Swaine's sister. She'll give you the Segment File along with
Decoder 6. Unlock the Segment Address door next to her. Open the treasure
chest inside, for SECRET KEY 3. Head on up the nearby ramp and enter Moby
Dick's Cafe, to trigger some lengthy cut-scenes.

Note 1: GS Campaigns # 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11 & 19 will be available after
        the Moby Dick event. So you can start doing them if you want. Though
        I recommend that you complete GS Quest #1 early, since it earns you
        Secret Key 1 -- this unlocks the Psycho Pocket ether skill. Look at
        the GS Campaign section of this FAQ for a more detailed explanation.

Note 2: Should you decide to do the GS campaigns at the Kukai Foundation,
        proceed to the Park Area onboard the Durandal. Talk to the "Naive
        Mass-Produced 100 Series Realian. Pick the 1st option, then the
        2nd one as your answers to her questions. She'll give you DECODER 11

Note 3: At the 'Urban Area' of the Foundation, blast the cars for 5 SKILL
        UPGRADE As and a BIO SPHERE. Go to King's Hideout (East 6) and
        blast the crates inside for an ETHER PACK M and MED KIT M.

Proceed to the Uzuki Residence (the area north of the city) on the map.
Watch some more cut-scenes. You'll regain control of chaos at the world map.
Go back into the house, and make your way to the backyard. Break the plant
pots for a BIO SPHERE. Head back a bit, destroy the wooden wall not far from
the entrance of the house -- to reveal SEGMENT ADDRESS #9.

Go back to the 'world map' and proceed to the U.M.N. Control Center. (north-
east from the City). Save your game. Go through the large door. Here, head
right and around the computer consoles to the hallway at the back. Examine
the eastern door for some cut-scenes.

Once you regain control, leave the main room. Proceed to the smaller room
further east. More cut-scenes. Go back to the main room, then make your way

to the Analysis Room. (the large red door at the hallway) Talk to Mauro and
tell him you're ready. Some lengthy cut-scenes follow.

You'll have control of Shion afterwards. Leave Vector Second Division, and
proceed to the U.M.N. Control Center. When you regain control after those
cut-scenes, exit through the eastern door and go all the way back to the
elevator. Save your game. Return to the Analysis Room. Talk to Allen.

Head south a bit, save and go inside the house. In the living room, shoot
the gray blinds located notheast, and proceed into the kitchen. Here, head
down then open the blinds for 2 SKILL UPGRADE Cs. Go back to the previous
room. Go upstairs. Try to enter the bed room to trigger a cut-scene. When
you regain control. leave the house and step on the portal.

You'll be at the Yuriev Institute. Just follow the trio around this place --
triggering cut-scenes each time you catch up. The people here do have
interesting things to say, so be sure to talk to them. You'll eventually
find yourself at a Gas Station.

Save, blast the boxes for 2 REVIVE S and go north. Blast the crate onboard
the truck for a treasure chest with 2 MED KIT M. Back-track then head east 3
screens. You can destroy the cabin at the third screen, to uncover a
forbidden device. (It doesn't have any use for now.)

At the 4th screen, follow the path until you reach a fork. Take the lower
path, and blow up the rock for a treasure chest with 4 SKILL UPGRADE Bs. Go
back, proceed down across the log. Take the lower path north, knock the log
down to create a makeshift bridge. Cross it to the other side, and move
along the path to the next area.

Here, continue right, then nothwest. Knock the log down to get across the
river. Save and open the treasure chest near the save point for 2 ANTIDOTE
H. Back-track and head north to the next area.

Continue along the path until you see 2 logs. Go north across the thicker
one to the other side. Blast the tree to your right, then go east along
the hidden path. Go down the ledge for a treasure chest containing a BOOST
MAX. Go down again and, make your way back to higher ground by heading
east. Once there, cross the log and continue north to the next area.

After that short cut-scene, defeat the infected U.R.T.V.s. These things
do pack a punch, but are weak against thunder. So be sure to have Shion in
for this fight. Their weak zone is CC. Save your game, then head west to the
next area. There will be some more cut-scenes, followed by a boss fight.

This is an easy fight. But it can also frustrate you to no end, if you don't
know what to do. First your party should consist of: KOS-MOS, Jr., & MOMO.
Stock all your characters to full, then attack a few times to charge your
boost gauge. I also recommend casting both Aura Sword and Attacker ether
spells on your party, to put a quick end to this fight.

Now be sure to boost your characters in this order: Jr. (execute 2 triangle
attacks) -> KOSMOS (attack with square-square-O-O-O) -> Jr. (use O-O-O).

That should do it. Since Jr should deal as much as 1000-1300 HP worth of
damage per shot (if you cast both Aura Sword & Attacker on him), while Level
4 is suspended in mid-air. If the boss survives that however, just wait for
it to fall back down then pelt 3 O attacks at it using MOMO.

Back to the Yuriev Institute. Leave the room and save your game. And just
like in your first visit, follow the trio around the facility to trigger
flashback cut-scenes. After the 3rd cut-scene, you'll be at the Gas Station
again. This place is essentially the same as it was during summer-time,
only with different sets of treasures.

Access the save point. Blast the crates to get a MED KIT S. Head north, and
destroy the box behind the billboard for a treasure chest with 2 ANTIDOTE Ls
Back-track then head east 2 screens. At the 3rd screen, break the one of the
rocks on the side to get an Ether Pack S. Head east once again to the next
area.

Here, go down across the log; taking the lower path at the split. Knock
the log at the end of the path down, and cross it to the other side.
Continue east along the path & break the boulder. Open the treasure chest
for 2 BIO SPHERES. Proceed to the next area.

Head east, then northwest. Blast the log, go across it and save. From here
move back a bit, then take a left around the corner for another treasure
containing a REJUVENATOR M. Make your way onto the next area... *again!*

Take a left and blow up the rock for an Ether Pack M. Go back and head
north across the thicker log. Blast the tree to your right, then continue
right along the hidden path. Go down the ledge to find SEGMENT ADDRESS #15.
Drop down and make your way back to higher ground. Cross the same thick
log to return to the main path. Proceed to the next screen.

The path in this area is quite linear, so save first and make your way
around until you reach a fork. First go right and pick up the treasure chest
with 2 SKILL UPGRADE Cs at the end. Go back, and this time head left. Break
the boulder at the end of the path to get 10 SKILL UPGRADE As. For the last
time, back-track to the main split, and continue forward along the central
path to move on. (Though you might want to make your back to the beginning
of this area, to save your game. I suggest you do so.)

More cut-scenes. Followed by what will be your final boss battle for Disc 1.

Ok. First I'll have you know that this is one hard fight. So I'll take the
time to discuss each of his attacks. Then move on to the battle strategy
later.

- Carrion of Souls 1: Damage + L Ether DD (Ether Defense Down) status
  effect. All characters.

- Carrion of Souls 2: HP Drain / Boost Drain. All characters.
- Carrion of Souls 3: EP Drain / Stock Drain. All characters.
- Release of Desire:  Thunder Element + Pierce Attribute. One character.
- Ice Blast / Thunder Blast
- Taunt ("Death means nothing") Makes the status window at the top of your
  screen disappear.
- Soul Blast: Aura ether attack. All characters. (This is his deadliest
  move, so watch out.)

Now onto strategy. You must remember that it's useless to attack Albedo
with his arms intact. Not only will you deal pathetic amount of damage
(I actually got a 5 >.<), but he also blocks any kind of break attempt.

As for your party, having KOS-MOS in is MANDATORY. You'll definitely need
her for this fight. For the other 2 members, I suggest either of the
following: Jr., MOMO, Ziggy. Having someone with a good set of curative
ethers is by all means necessary. Another thing, be sure to cast Flame
Sword and Attacker on Jr., as well as KOS-MOS if possible. For Ziggy, just
cast the latter spell on him, since he already has Fire as his element by
default.

To break his arms, cast Ice or Flame Sword on the characters that have
either PIERCE or SLASH attributes in their attacks. (Jr., MOMO or Ziggy)
Since I noticed that they're the only ones who can make Albedo put his
guard up, and therefore make his arms go numb. Ice Sword almost always
makes his arms numb every turn, so be sure to make use of that. Also, it
takes around 5-6 hits to destroy Albedo's arms. They'll regenerate after a
few turns though.

Once his arms are destroyed, have your fully-stocked characters attack in
this order:  Jr. (execute a Square-triangle attack) -> KOS-MOS (attack with
triangle-square-O-O-O) -> Jr (use O-O-O) -> Ziggy (Once Albedo falls down --
attack with O-O-O) Hopefully you'll kill him after this.  Also, having the
equipped-skill Aura Coat really helps in protecting you against Soul Blast.

Lastly, don't forget to steal Awakening I!

After watching the cut-scenes, you'll be asked if you wish save. Do so,
then proceed to Disc 2.

Leave the room and access the save point to your left. Continue northeast
into the next room. Here, proceed south to the communiacations room, then
talk to Allen to get the sedatives. Go back to Shion's room. examine the
bed up ahead. When you regain control make your way back to the communi-
cations room, for yet another cut-scene. Save your game outside Shion's room
and head west through the door. Take the elevator down to the lower area.

Follow the path and go through 2 doors, defeating the mechs along the way.
You'll eventually get to a large room. From here, go east and blow up the
crates for 2 ETHER PACK S. Head right a little further, blasting some more
boxes to get a MED KIT L. Proceed into the Storage Room by heading south.

Inside, shoot the wall to the left several times to blow it up. Open the
treasure chest at the other side to get DECODER 18. Head back out and
blast the crates for a Med Kit M and Rejuvenator DX. Go up the ladder at
the right wall. At the top, go west, examine the switch, and press it.
This should destroy the truck below; thus giving you access to a new room.
Go back down and return to the previous area.

Go northeast and save your game. Enter the room next to the save point.
You'll be at a long hallway with 8 rooms marked "A-I". Proceed to room "A"
and blast the boxes to reveal SEGMENT ADDRESS #7. Return to the previous
area. Now go through the other room a little further left. Destroy the
crates in here ro get an ETHER PACK M. Blast the bridge support and head up
the now collapsed bridge. From here go south, blast the box at the end for 2
BIO SPHERES. Continue north into the next room.

Your goal here is, to create a bridge to get to the other side. But first
head down the ladder and blast the crates to find SEGMENT ADDRESS #1 at the
back. (If you did GS Quest #5, you should have the decoder for this door by
now. The treasure inside is SECRET KEY 8.) Leave the room, then come back to
reset the boxes. Start constructing your makeshift bridge:

- First destroy the crate directly ahead.
- Destroy 3 boxes to your left.
- Destroy 3 boxes directly left of where you are.
- Blast 2 of the boxes south of your current position.
- Go down the ladder. Blow up the box to the left of the black crate.
- Blast the next 2 boxes behind the one you just destroyed.
- Destroy the solitary box to to your left, and 1 of the boxes behind it.
- Go left and destroy all the boxes directly ahead, Ignoring the 4 boxes
  stacked atop each other.
- Destroy the single crate to your left. Head back up the ladder & go across
  your incomplete bridge. (You should be stepping on a black crate when you
  raech the end.)
- Destroy the silitary crate in front of you.
- And finally, destroy both crates to your left.

Continue south into the next room. Keep going south and up the stairs to the
next area. You'll now be at the upper section of the "Dock". Head east for a
short cut-scene. When you regain control, press the switch to activate the
elevator. Ride it down, save, then ride it back up. Go north through the
door.

There will be lots of conveyor belts here. Just move along the belts, and
drop into the hole marked "#4". Head down the stairs to the next area. Here,
blast both crates and keep going up. The crate blocking the stairs contains
2 SKILL UPGRADE Cs. Enter the door at the top. Continue east to the next
room. There's a huge water tank in here.

Destroy 3 of the support crates under the panel (starting from left). Climb
the stairs and step at the top-left corner of the platform, to make it tilt.
Then head to the bottom-right corner of the platform, to destroy the crate
underneath. A treasure chest will float out from it. Go back to the top-
left corner, to tilt the platform once more. Open the chest to get DECODER
15. Proceed southeast to get on the catwalk, and contine south through the
door.

Save your game. Proceed north, running against the strong air current. Go
along the center of the path, and use the elavator platform up ahead to
block some of the wind. Run a bit right up to it, and quickly go right
behind the glass pane. Press the switch to turn off the fan. Climb the
ladder at the upper-left section of the platform. Take the elevator up to
the next area.

After the short-cutscene, beat the crap out of both mechs that dared to stop
you. (So much for the boss music ^^) Go through the small door up ahead. In
the next room, head up a bit for some long cut-scenes.

There are plenty of things you can do here before moving on to the next
stage. First head east up the ramp and save. Head west through the door. Go
into the further left room. Blast a part of the wall in here to find SEGMENT
ADDRESS #2. Leave and continue west into the Bar.

Talk to Adonis to activate GS campaign #27. Complete it to get Decoder 14.
Once you've done that, take the elevator down to B1. Talk to Kamikaze --
the droid in front of the Weapon Shop. This will trigger GS campaign #32.
(The longest and most tiring GS campaign, so it's better to start early.)

Now head back to where the save point was, and access the U.M.N. terminal
next to it. Go back these places:

* Old Miltia (14 Years Ago) Unlock segement address #14. Get ROBOT PART
  RIGHT ARM and DECODER 7.

* Subconcious Domain Winter -- Unlock segment address #15. Get SECRET KEY 5.
  Go to the area where you made a log roll down the river. Shoot 2 of the
  rocks sticking out of the river. (starting from left). Knock the log down
  and it should roll a little further east. Go across it, blast the box to
  get a Bio Sphere.

* Dammerung -- Unlock segment address #7. Get ROBOT PART LEFT ARM.

* Subconcious Domain Summer --  Go to the area where you made a log roll
  down the river. Shoot 2 of the rocks sticking out of the river. (starting
  from left). Knock the log down and it should roll a little further east.
  Go across it, blast the box, and get DECODER 4 from the treasure chest.

Exit the U.M.N. Proceed to the ship's bridge for some dialogue. Afterwards,
talk to Matthews -- Go to Old Miltia. Once you regain control, head for the
Mobile Weapons Hangar (It's the room next to the door leading to the cabin
area.) and launch your E.S.

Save your game. Continue south to the next screen. Go along the path until
you reach a fork -- taking the east path will lead you to a forbidden
device, which doesn't have any use for now. So proceed south instead. At the
next split, go southwest. Shoot the wall at the end several times, to reveal
an entrance. Go in.

Here, go around the path, then north down the ramp. (I'll refer to this
section of the room as the "main split" from here on.) Head right, then up
the ramp. Open the treasure chest containing a CHARGE RECOVER up north.
Back-track to the main split, and this time go left. Proceed down the ramp.
Continue north around the path, and head west into the room.

Shoot the objects around here for 6 NANO REPAIR As, 2 NANO SPHERES, & 2 NANO
REPAIR Zs. Save your game, leave the room. Make your way back to the main
split, then head south. Continue left around the the path, and down the ramp
to the left. Here, head south 'round the corner, up the ramp. Go east, open
the treasure chest for a G SLOW GUARD. Return to the previous area.

Go back to the split and head northwest to the next screen. In this room,
you'll see 4 pairs of switches. These will rotate the objects a little
further up the room. What you have to do here is rotate the objects, so that
the 4 red lights are facing towards the center of the room. Take the
elevator down to the lower area. Head west into the room.

At the Hangar, exit your E.S., save then continue west into the next room.
Press the switch. This will activate the elevator below. Leave the room,
board your E.S. and make your way back to the stronghold's Interior. Once
there, save your game and ride the elevator up. Blast the boxes straight
ahead. Enter the room at the top.

Have Shion as Jr.'s co-pilot for the E.S. Asher, so that you can use the
special attack Gatling Blast. (Quite effective against Pilum -- deals around
3800-6000 damage) And put MOMO and Jin together in the E.S. Zebulun, for the
special attack Golden Bow (Very effective against Scutum -- deals around
5000-7000+ damage). Also, having MOMO learn the skill Focus I should help
keep your EP up. (Restores 10% of EP when using the STOCK command.) Lastly,
make sure either E.S. has Charge Recover equipped.

Start off the battle by stealing both your opponent's rare items. Then begin
stocking and unleashing special attacks. Heal with Medica 2 (recommended)
when you're low on HP. This battle shouldn't take long. Though Pilum has a
powerful attack, (I forgot the name) that can deal as much as 5000-6000 HP
worth of damage on a single target. Once you see the message "something is
wrong with Richard", heal at once since the said deadly attack will most
likely follow.

After that battle, head north and press the blue button. Descend the
elevator. Save your game. Go all the way back to the Hangar, exit your E.S.
and head west through the door. Follow the path left, open the treasure
chest along the way to get SECRET KEY 14. Go through the door at the end.
Climb the ladder in the next room, then head west.

Continue forward along the conveyor belt, taking a right at the split.
Here, shoot the wall several times to destroy it and get 6 CLASS UPGRADE Bs.
Head north into the opening, go around the corner, and open the treasure
chest at the end containing DECODER 2. Head back out then continue east.
Climb the ladder to the next area.

Here, save your game and follow the long path down, defeating enemies along
the way. Proceed into the room at the bottom, where you'll find a huge pile
of blocks and a platform. You'll need to load 8 pieces of blocks onto the
platform, to get it down to the bottom. Then cut the load down to 7 to get
to the room at the other side. Here's how to do it:

Load the single piece of block, at the bottom of the pile onto the platform.
(shoot it from the right side.) Destroy the next single piece (shoot it from
the front.) Push the next 2 sets of blocks onto the platform. Destroy next
one, and load the next one onto the platform. Climb down the ladder and get
on it (platform). Destroy the single block at the bottom. Continue west to
the next room.

Another puzzle. This time you'll have to construct a bridge, out of the 6
crates here, to get across the large pit up ahead.

Go north across the completed makeshift bridge. You'll encounter yet another
puzzle here, this time form a path to SEGMENT ADDRESS #13.

there. Just make sure your bridge forms a path going east, not south. Once
you're done, continue right to the next area.

Save your game. Follow the path, and step on the yellow circle to go down.
Next take the blue one up. Go down further through the northmost yellow
circle. Here, head east to find SEGMENT ADDRESS #4. Get SECRET KEY 9 inside.
(if you were able to obtain decoder 4 at the subconcious domain earlier)
Back-track and take 2 blue circles up. Then the yellow one, and the blue one
to return to the starting point.

From there, go down the yellow circle, up the blue one, then down again
through the closer yellow portal. Go down through the succeeding yellow
circles, and up at the next blue one you encounter. And finally down the
yellow one. Here follow the path, then step on the green circle, to proceed
to the next area.

Save your game. Head up through the blue portal east. At the top, continue
along the path and go north into the entrance. Watch some cut-scenes.
Boss fight.

Be prepared for an extremely difficult battle. Having the equipped skill
"Spear Coat" as well as Poison Guard helps a lot. The weak zone for her
initial form is BCBB. At this point she'll be weak against Ether Attacks
(physical attacks are pretty much useless), so bring Shion in and keep
using O. As for the others, have them support Shion by casting Thunder Blast
or healing.

The only problem is, Orgulla's evasion rate is pretty high. So you'll find
yourself missing often. Break Sensors should provide some help about this.
Also, be sure to stock up your characters to full, while she's still in this
form.

Now, once she has about 9000-11000 HP left, Manes will Awaken. Her weak zone
this time around is CBB. At the same time, she'll become weak against
physical attacks. So if you're going to unleash combos, this is the best
time to do so. Cast both Thunder Sword & Attacker on your characters if
possible, to strengthen your attacks.

It's important that you eliminate her as fast possible at this point, since
her offensives are lot more powerful than before. In addition to that, she'll
start boosting continuously. You really wouldn't want to get wiped out, and
redo everything all over again.

After that, shoot the blue pillars. Leave the room, head back down and SAVE
your game. Contine north into the pyramid thing. Here, you'll have to blow
up the 4 detonators, at the center of the room simulataneously, to initiate
the self-destruct sequence.

Flip the lower top-left lever, then the 2 v-shaped ones. (do this in order,
from left to right) Press the switch at the bottom. Now, you'll have 30
minutes to get the hell out of this place, before it gets blown to bits.
You don't have to go all the way back to the entrance, just the Hangar. Also
pick up the 6 CLASS UPGRADE Cs on your way there.

At the Hangar, board your E.S. head right 1 screen for a cut-scene. You'll
have Pellegri's E.S. after that.

This battle is fairly easy if you know what to do. First have Jr. and Shion
pilot Asher, then MOMO and Jin for Zebulun. This way, you'll have 2 very
effective pierce-type special attacks at your disposal. (Gatling Blast &
Golden Bow) Next, charge up both E.S. to 200, cast Aura Sword on E.S. Asher,
and unleash your special attacks. You can deal as much as 10000-12000 damage
in one go with both E.S.

Once you're ready, go to the Elsa's bridge, talk to Capt. Matthews and head
for Old Miltia. Outside, save your game. Continue west to the next screen.
Keep going onwards to the next area once more. Here, head left at the split,
shoot the wall to knock it down. Pick up the treasure chest with a QUICK
CHARGE at the end.

Go back down to the main path, and shoot the obstacles to get a G WEAK
GUARD. Go east to the next area. At the split, take the upper path heading
right, exit your E.S. at the end. Blast the rocks to find SEGMENT ADDRESS
#18. Get SECRET KEY 16 inside. Make your way back to the fork, and this time
take the lower path. Blast the objects here for a NANO REPAIR A and a NANO
REPAIR Z. Continue east to the next screen.

In this area, head north a bit to fight 0-88 Delphinus. Be sure to steal
G-Power Charge, since it'll come in handy later. Also, casting Aura Sword on
your E.S. will make this battle somewhat shorter. Continue forward up the
ramp, then south to save. From here, go east, then south onto the slab of
wreckage. Blast the objects along the way for a NANO REPAIR A.

Go up and shoot the piece of concrete slab, to make it fall into the water.
Head back, then go north across the water. Continue west to move on.
Go west some more and follow the path to the end, picking up a NANO REPAIR Z
along the way. At the end of the path, you'll encounter a fork. Go south,
fight another 0-88 Delphinus. Pick up the treasure chest containing DECODER
9 behind it.

Return to the fork and head north. From there, go east, shoot some more
obstacles to get 2 NANO SPHERES. Head west to the next area. Now go north
and defeat the last 0-88 Delphinus. Destroy the obstacles to get a G POISON
GUARD. Save your game and move on. In the next area, go forward to trigger a
cut-scene, then a boss fight.

This is another easy fight. The key here is to attack the cannons during the
designated event slot, where its defense shield is diverted to other areas.
Hit it twice at this point to destroy its defense totally. It also helps to
equip G Weak Guard or G Power Charge, for protection against L Weak (Physical
Defense Down)

Have Ziggy pilot Asher with Jr. to utilize the power of Corona Buster against
this boss. Tornado Fist (KOS-MOS, Shion combo) is also very effective. Only
use special attacks when the cannons' defense shields are out. You should win
real quick. Watch out for for Fire Cannons 2 though, since it's pretty
powerful. The auxillary fuel will give the cannons additional 6000 HP, but
that shouldn't be much of a problem either.

After that battle, proceed right to the next screen. You can't get into the
tower onboard your E.S., so you'll have to look for another route. Blast the
obstacles for a NANO REPAIR A. Continue forward a little further, destroy
the boxes to reveal a treasure chest containing a G ST DOUBLE. Shoot the
yellow object a little bit to the left, exit your E.S. and climb down the
ladder.

Save your game. Continue west around the corner, and take a left at the
fork. Move along the path, destroy the boxes at the end for 2 MED KIT S.
Descend the stairs, defeat the mech blocking your way. After that, proceed
north up the ladder to the left. Here, blast the wall right next to you,
defeat that mech, and open the treasure chest containing SECRET KEY 13 at
the back.

Head back south around the corner and press the switch, to open the flood
gate below. Make your way back to the very first split path of this dungeon,
climb down the stairs to the left, and follow the path to the next screen.

In this room, you'll have to adjust the water level, so that it will be
equal to 0. Press the buttons in this order: CENTER (#6) -- TOP (#5) --
BOTTOM (#2) -- CENTER (#6) -- BOTTOM (#2). Once done, head left and go
along the path; climb the ladder up to proceed to the next room.

Follow the path, climb down the ladder, then head south and climb another
ladder to the top. Continue north through the door for a cut-scene. When
you regain control, exit through the north door.

You'll be in a large room, with lots of splits. For now go east, follow the
path, while blasting through the cobwebs. You'll come across some boxes
here; destroy them to get 5 SKILL UPGRADE As. At the next split, head north.
You'll eventually reach a path with 3 splits. Now head north towards the end
of the path. Blow up the boxes for 2 ANTIDOTE H. SEGMENT ADDRESS #5 is here
as well. Get SECRET KEY 20 inside.

Go back to the fork, and this time go west down the stairs. Keep going
forward, blasting through some more cobwebs and into the door at the end.
Go forward a bit and save then, head east down the stairs. Get on the train
to proceed to the next sector of Labyrinthos.

From here, go west along the path and, blast the boxes to get a MED KIT S.
Head back and head north through the door. Here, make your way to the north-
most part of the area, save and defeat the mech, to get the chest with
DECODER 5 behind it. After that, go around the path heading south. Take the
passage next to the entrance, to the next room.

There will be lots of boxes here. Just head for the top-rightmost part of
the area to find your exit, behind a set of boxes. You'll also get the
folllowing items around here: ANTIDOTE L, MED KIT M, REJUVENATOR DX.

In the next room, you'll be faced with another puzzle. What you have to do
here is hit the cylinders, to rotate the the cross-beams along with the
walls below. You'll have to open a path to the door located northwest in
order to proceed. The Xs below indicate the positions of the cylinders.
Note that this solution solves the puzzle in one go, meaning you don't need
to leave the room to reset the walls and cross-beams.

be at the upper section of the main room. Head southwest and press the
switch to activate the elevator. Ride it down to the lower area and save.

Go around the path heading south, exit through one of the passages into
another room. Continue west up the stairs, head south and blow up the boxes
for a BOOST MAX. Go back north up the stairs to the left, and press the
switch. Proceed back down, go southwest along the newly opened path. At the
split, head north, then west at the next one. Open the treasure chest for a
REJUVENATOR E.

Back-track southeast and press the switch to lower the divider; thus forming
a makeshift bridge. Now go back to the beginning of the area, climb the
stairs and press the switch. From here head south, take a left, then north.
(Press the switch along the way.) Follow the path, blast the boxes at the
end for a BIO SPHERE. Press the switch. Go south down the stairs, then
move along the path northeast. Proceed through the door to the next area.

Another puzzle that requires you to form a bridge, out of the blocks to
get to the other side.

Outside, continue southeast to the next screen. From here head southeast
once more, and press the switch to activate the elevator. Ride it down, then
save your game. Take the elevator platform at the center of the room, down
to the lower level. Continue through the door.

In this room, head west along the path and ride the elevator up. Press the
switch on the yellow console to raise the giant partition below.`Now go
back down via the elevator. Go around the path to the back, and press the
switch. Go up once more, press the switch on the yellow console again. This
will bring the partition back down, giving you access to the newly unlocked
door.

From your current position, head east then down the stairs. Contine south-
west into the large door for some cut-scenes. When you regain control, press
the red button to unlock the door labeled "B" outside. Leave the room.

Here climb the stairs to the right. Press the button on the yellow console
again, then the elevator switch not far from it. Take the platform down.
Continue north through the door. You'll find yet another elevator, so ride
it down to the isolation area.

Save your game. Shoot the objects on both sides to get an ANTIDOTE H and a
BIO SPHERE. Proceed north through several layers of doors, while defeating
enemies along the way. (I recommend that you save after each battle) Watch
some more cut-scenes, and of course a boss fight follows.

I must say that this battle is neither easy nor hard. The only reason I got
a game over was because of me having too much fun stealing Awakening IIIs
from his shadows. Most of Margulis' attacks are fire elemental, so equipping
Flame Coat on your characters will help in damage reduction. Hammer Coat is
also recommended, since he has a pretty nasty strike-type attack, that hits
all your characters. My party consisted of MOMO, Jr. and Jin.

Do the usual -- stock up your characters to full, boost and unleash combos.
I found that Air is a lot more effective than down, so use either Jin or
KOS-MOS for this. I recommend that you start using combos with Margulis'
back facing Jr. (To utilize the additional damage from "Back Hit") Casting
Attacker on your characters will also help. Boost your characters in this
order when using combos: Jr. (Triangle-Square) -> Jin (Triangle-[]-O-O-O) ->
Jr. (O-O-O) -> MOMO (O-O-O).

Attacking the shadow will make it absorb HP from the real Margulis. I
recommend that you do this once in a while, since the shadow has weaker
physical defense -- you deal more damage, thus the shadow absorbs more HP
from the real one. Once you deal enough damage, the countdown for H-Stop
begins. Be sure to defeat him before he gets a chance to use it, otherwise
it's game over for you.

This guy has Last Revenge equipped, so he'll survive with 1 HP and boost.
Finish him off with Jin when that happens.

Some lengthy cut-scenes follow. You'll eventually regin control at the
Durandal. At this point, GS campaign # 14, 16, 18, 20, 26, 30, & 35 will be
available. Complete them if you like. Once you're ready, proceed to the Elsa
and talk to captain Matthews, and head for the Omega System.

Keep heading south, until you reach an obstacle blocking your path. Destroy
it and ride the platform down. Stop on this floor, go right, defeat the
enemy E.S. and blast the box behind to reveal a hidden passage. Go inside.
Exit your E.S. to find SEGMENT ADDRESS #17. The treasure chest in there
contains SECRET KEY 28. Go back to the elevator and continue down.

Stop on the next floor. Go left and defeat yet another enemy E.S. Blast the
crate behind it for a NANO SPHERE. Take the elevator down to the next
screen. Once again, stop on this floor, go right and blast the crate to get
a NANO REPAIR Z. Head back left and save your game. Proceed further down
via the elevator.

From here, head west, exit your E.S. and through the small door. One of the
boxes in here contains a MED KIT M. Destroy the pile of boxes located at
northwest part of the room. Proceed through the passage and up 2 flights of
stairs. At the top, go into the door to your left.

Follow the path northeast, and blast both boxes at the end for a treasure
chest containing SECRET KEY 24. Go back left and, press the button to
unlock the large door at the main room. (where the elevator was) Leave the
room. Outside, go through the east door, and press the button in here as
well.

Make your way back to your E.S, then continue north into the newly unlocked
door. (Go back up and save first) Head northwest to the next screen. From
here, just go along the path, exit your E.S., and take the elevator at the
northmost end of the room to the next area. Here, head south down several
flights of stairs, go through the passage at the bottom.

Save your game and take the elevator down. Press the button to turn on
the power for the A.M.W.S. elevator. Go all the way back to the top, and
examine the console there to operate it. Run down the stairs, pressing
the red buttons along the way, to release the lock bars so that the elevator
can pass through. Go through the passageway at the bottom of the stairs
again. Save and take the elevator down.

In the next area, board your E.S. Continue forward a bit for a boss fight.

Have Jr. and Ziggy pilot Asher, for the Corona Buster special attack. Also,
it really helps if MOMO has both EP Regen, and EP Half skills equipped.
Since you'll find yourself healing a lot for this fight. Equip Anti-Beam
Armor on both your E.S. Just have Asher stock and use special attacks. Heal
with Zebulun if you need to. This battle shouldn't be too hard.

After the battle, head north through the door. In this room, you can only
destroy the boxes from the green side. The smaller objects contain items:
Charge Boost; G Ether PD Guard; and Nano Sphere.

In the next room, save your game. Go north and exit your E.S. on one of the
docks to the right. Blast the purple door. Destroy the box inside for a
MED KIT DX. Go back outside and into the other door, blast the box to get a
BOOST MAX. Outside, you can either head through the west door, and move on
in your E.S. or solve the block puzzle, to create a path for your
characters.

I suggest solving the puzzle, since the E.S. path is dry. The puzzle
consists of 10 columns of blocks. You have to form a bridge out of those, to
get to the purple door on the left side. Destroy the blocks in this order:

- Any of the blue blocks in column 1. (starting from left)
- Any of the red blocks in column 6.
- The blue block at the bottom of column 3.
- Either red block in column 3.
- Any of the yellow blocks in column 2.
- The solitary yellow block in column 1.
- The blue block in column 2.
- Any of the blue blocks in column 6.
- The 3rd block in column 8. (the red one)
- Any of the yellow blocks in column 7.
- Any of the 3 yellow blocks in column 10.
- The solitary red block in column 9.

Exit the E.S. and cross the new bridge. Destroy the purple door, go in.
Follow the path, and go south at the fork. The treasure chest at the end of
the path contains SECRET KEY 27. Go back to the fork, and head east. Press
the red button on the wall, then go through the door.

From there, just follow the path for 2 screens. Pick up the ETHER PACK DX,
ETHER PACK M and CLASS UPGRADE C along the way, by shooting the yellow
objects on both sides. In the next area, shoot the object at the center of
the room to reveal a save point. Save and go north onto the platform to move
on. Go forward a bit for a short cut-scene, then a boss fight.

BOSS: CATHEDRAL

This boss isn't so hard if you know how to exploit its weaknesses. Cathedral
switches between 3 forms, each with different weak zones -- White Robe
(CCCC), Call to Arms (BCCB) & Cry of the Rapture (BBC). The latter 2 forms
are actually gender discriminant -- Call to Arms dislikes females, and Cry
of the Rapture hates males. You don't really have to use an all-male, or all
-female party when fighting those 2 forms. Just don't attack it with a
character whose gender it dislikes, and you'll be fine.

The other thing is Call to Arms is weak against Ether Attacks, while Cry of
the Rapture is vunerable to physical attacks. So here's what you should do:
Fight Call to Arms with a character that can inflict Down, and 2 others with
an ether-type double attack. Dual Spell Ray (chaos-Shion double attack) can
inflict as much as 12000 - 14000 damage (Hi Critical), while Down is in
effect.

As for Cry of the Rapture, use Cross Fist (double attack for Ziggy & KOS-
MOS) It can cause around 5000+ - 8000 damage (Critial or Hi Critical), with
Down in effect. Gravity Bomb (Shion-KOSMOS double attack) also works quite
well. Just attack it with KOS-MOS afterwards. Once Cathedral uses "Mirror
of Truth", just switch out the character whose soul gets revealed.

And finally, the other form, White Robe uses a move called "Advent of Sweet
Whispers" which causes L Stun (all characters). So be sure to learn Stun
Guard.

After that battle, go back to the previous area and SAVE. Continue north
onto the other platform to the next area. Cut-scenes. Boss fight.

This battle is pretty much average in terms of difficulty. First equip both
Aura Coat and Beam Coat on your battle party. Having Slow & Blind Guards
also helps. Then have at least 2 characters learn Aura Veil. The best
combination for this battle has to be Jr., KOS-MOS/Ziggy, & MOMO. When the
battle begins, move Jr. behind Patriarch, cast Attacker, and start shooting
Also, use the ether combo "Aura Wall" if possible, since it will save you
a lot of turns, compared to casting Aura Veils on each character.

His first form shouldn't be that much of a problem, so I suggest saving
you full-charged stock and boost gauges for later. It is best to steal
Awakening IV early on.

His 2nd form is essentially the same as the first. Only this time, you
must also worry about Proto Omega. It won't interfere until the geezer
orders it to though, so take that chance to eliminate the old man quick.
Using the Cross Fist double attack, while the old man is down, can
cause as much as 5000 - 6000+ damage (critical), so use it if you can.

This is the time to use combos, so hit him with all you got. I'm sure
you're well aware of what to do now, since you've managed to come this far.
Chances are, you'll defeat him even before he calls for Proto Omega. If not,
just keep your HP high. Beam Coat will definitely be great help if you have
it equipped.

More cut-follow. You'll eventually regain control of Jr. at the Durandal.
Head to the Park for another bunch of cut-scenes.

You only have Jr. for this one. But the thing is, there's no way you can die
here. Because in addition to the Safety Level spell, all he does most of the
time is taunt. So I'll leave you to decide what you want to do. Though I
recommend casting both Attacker and Aura Sword. Just remember, DON'T try to
finish him off with a full combo! Albedo will just heal himself if you do,
thus this battle will never end. Use any of the 4 initial button
combinations instead. The battle ends after he casts Eternal Chain, which
leaves you with 1 HP.

When you load the Clear Data, you'll once again be onboard the Elsa, with
the Professor waiting for you. Once you regain control after all those
dialogues, head for the Lab in Second Miltia. Talk to the Other Professor
and he'll give you the SEQUENCER B.

Now go to Ormus Stronghold via the U.M.N. Use the item you just received
to activate the Forbidden Device there.

Save your game. Shoot the whirlpool next to the save point to reveal a
treasure chest containing a G ETHER PD GUARD. Then shoot the other whirlpool
directly ahead. Go left, blast the pillar here to get a NANO REPAIR A.
Continue south along the path going up. Defeat the Gnosis and open the
treasure chest with a G POISON GUARD.

Head back down and continue north on the main path. One of the pillars
contain a NANO REPAIR A. Keep going forward, then take a right near the end
and head south. Dismount your E.S, to find SEGMENT ADDRESS #8. Get the
ROBOT PART BODY inside. Board the E.S. and go back northwest. You should
find a destructible part on the wall. Shoot it several times to get to the
next area.

Head northest at the split. One of the boxes here contains a NANO REPAIR A.
Move on north. At the next screen, open the treasure chest for a G STUN
GUARD. Go back to the previous area, then head northwest at the split.
Blast some more boxes for a NANO REPAIR Z. Press the switch, so that the
metal catwalk is connected to the path at the middle up ahead. Continue
north.

Destroy the boxes here as well to get another NANO REPAIR A. When you
reach the path with 3 splits, go left and blast the boxes for a NANO
SPHERE. Head south onto the next screen. Once again, blast the boxes to
get a NANO SPHERE. Cross the metal bridge right and open the treasure
chest for a G Poison EP Guard. Go back to the previous area, and head
north at the main fork. One of the boxes here contains a  NANO REPAIR Z.
Move on to the next screen. Pick up the treasure chest with a G BLIND
GUARD.

Go back to the main fork once more, and head right this time. Blast
some more boxes to get a NANO REPAIR Z. Continue on further into the
cave. Save your game, and head north for a boss fight.

Put Shion onboard Asher, and Ziggy in Zebulun. Make sure that Asher has
Charge Recover, EMAX 300 & G Power Charge equipped. As for Zebulun, have
Charge Clean on. Take advantage of the opportunity to stock both E.S. while
Scarabeille is still being cautious. Next move Asher behind the boss, and
use the Odin Buster special attack. Use Power Kick on Zebulun's turn.

The boss will start attacking after it bows. When that happens, just keep
using Shot Buster with E.S. Asher, since it does pretty decent damage (6500
- 7000) with a lesser charge requirement. Try to use that during the "ETR"
event slot to deal more damage. (14000+) Once you bring Scarabeille down to
about 25000 or so HP, you'll see the message "Scarabeille increases gear
speed." Don't attack it at this point, since it'll just intercept your
attack and kill you.

Resume your attacks a turn after it does that. If it casts L Poison,
remove the status using the stock command. (If you have Charge Clean on)
Have Zebulun support Asher by using Power Kick repeatedly, and healing.

After that, head northeast and pick up SEQUENCER C from the treasure chest.
Dive out through the forbidden device. Your next stop is the Subconcious
Domain (Summer) Activate the Forbidden device (hidden under the shed at the
3rd screen) there.

Save your game. Exit through the passage on the left side. Go up the stairs
and defeat the enemy blocking your path, go further north. The crate at the
back contains 2 ANTIDOTE Ls. Head right to the next area. Go forwatd to the
next screen. You'll be in an area with 3 split paths. First go south at the
third split (starting from left) The crate at the back contains 2 MED KIT S
Head back, blast the crates and continue south at the second split. Blast
both boxes to your right to get a BOOST MAX.

Go back left and take the red conveyor belt south. From here, go right,
and defeat the enemy blocking your path. Continue on. Press the switch at
the end to lower the ladder. Head back and take a right at the split to the
next area. Move forward and press the button to activate the elevator below.
Return to the previous area, descend the ladder, then proceed northeast to
the next screen.

Take the elevator to the other side. At the next screen, defeat the enemy
and continue south. Blast the crates at the end of the path for a BIO SPHERE
Back-track then take a right at the split. Go down the stairs south. Access
the save point here, follow the path down, blast the boxes to your left for
a MED KIT L. Keep going left to the next screen. Continue south another
screen. From there, head south and follow the path. Go south again at the
next split. Blast the box at the end to get SECRET KEY 29.

Go back to the fork and this time, head east and ride the elevator down.
Take the blue conveyor belt north. Head right then up, defeat the enemy.
Blast the first crate to your left for 2 ANTIDOTE H. Ride the elevator up
to the next area. Here, press the button to lower the ladder. Go down and
save. Go back up then head west. Press the switch to activate the elevator
below. Return to the previous room, and ride the elevator back down to the
previos area.

From here, back-track 2 screens and, ride the now operational elevator down
Proceed to the next screen. Here, go along the path, then take a right at
the fork, and head west at the next one. Blast the box here for another BIO
SPHERE. Go back, then head north. Proceed east at the fork and destroy the
crate for a Skill Upgrade D. Exit through the left passage.

Climb down the ladder and continue west. Operate the crane. Return to the
previous area. Go down the ladder, and head south along the red conveyor
belt at the bottom to the next area. Go further west to the next screen.
Head north then west at the fork. Blast the crates to get an ETHER PACK DX.
Save your game, go back then head north up the stairs.

You'll see lots of forks here. From your current position, head north at the
split. Blast the box at the left side for a BIO SPHERE. Go back to the split
and head south. Follow the path until you reach the next fork. There, go
north down the stairs. Blast the crate to your right, continue onwards and
press the switch to lower another ladder. Now return to the main fork once
more, and this time head south. Defeat the enemy here. Open the treasure
chest behind it for SECRET KEY 30.

Make your way back to the ladder and go down. Save then go back up. Head
south along the blue conveyor belt. Head south when ready.

This is a pretty easy battle. First, it really helps if have Blade Coat,
Spear Coat and Overload skills equipped. Just stock your party up to full.
Cast Ice Sword and Attacker on your characters, and attack. The "Break
Block" disappears after it completes the phrase "Smell Roy...". Use normal
attacks until you knock Dullea Soul's HP to about 42,000, then start using
combos. Jr. and MOMO does 2500-3000 damage when the boss is suspended in
mid-air. (with Ice Sword & Attacker casted) Once the boss turns into a
gnosis completely, it'll go mad and fill the room with methane gas, then
ignite it. Chances are you won't survive that, so be sure to finish it off
before that happens.

After that, continue southest. Follow the path until you reach a fork. Shoot
the box to your left, to get a SKILL UPGRADE C. Head back right to the next
room. Press the switch, and go back. Head north via the conveyor belt, go
down the ladder and save. From there, go east, blast the crates. Proceed
south at the fork and through the exit. Ride the elevator down, then
continue northeast. Defeat the enemy. Proceed to the next room.

You can only do this puzzle if you activated GS quest #21. What you have to
do here is light up all 9 lights, on the central barrier door up ahead, in
EXACTLY 5 shots. Examine the green console and choose "Challenge Mode" to
begin. Shoot the boxes in this order: YELLOW - BLUE - GRAY - ORANGE - RED.

Go into the newly unlocked room, and open both treasure chests for a PINK
BOOK and SEQUENCER A. Dive out using the forbidden device southeast of
your current position.

Head for the research lab in Second Miltia, and use the Sequencer A on the
fobidden device downstairs. Once you reach your destination, just go
forward, while destroying the crystal statues on both sides to get a BIO
SPHERE and a MED KIT M. In the next room, there's a save point directly
ahead. Use it if you want. Now go forward until you reach a path with
a block on either side. Blast the one to the right, proceed along this path,
destroy the block at the end for a treasure chest containing SECRET KEY 31.

Go back a bit, then head left at the fork you previously ignored. At the
next fork, go north then east. Destroy the block on the other side when
you reach the end. Head back, then south at the fork onto the large
platform to fight the first of 3 mini bosses.

This enemy is fire-elemental, so equiping Flame Coat on your characters
is a very good idea. Casting Flame Veil also helps. Now cast Ice Sword and
Attacker on your party, then start unleashing combos. One more thing, it
occasionally uses Flame Blast to heal.

A red sphere will appear at the upper section. Go there and destroy it to
activate the red sphere at the giant door in this room. Afterwards, make
your way back to the very first fork in this area (the one with blocks on
both sides) and destroy the left block. Head right at the fork. Defeat the
enemy here, and go north. Blow up the block for a treasure chest containing
6 SKILL UPGRADE E. Now exit through the eastern passage. Here head north at
the fork, then west near the end of the path through another passage.

In this room, blow up the block at the end of the path, and go back to the
previous area. Proceed onto the large platform to fight another mini-boss.

After that, make your way back south, then east. Follow the path and smash
the yellow sphere at the top -- to activate the yellow sphere on the door at
the main room. Return to the main room and save your game. Now, proceed to
where you fought the first mini-boss, and head northwest into the next room.

This one is ice elemental, and at the same time, all of its attacks causes
L Slow. Equip Ice Coat and cast Ice Veil on your party. Its a good idea to
use Ziggy here, since he has fire as his element by default. As for your
other characters, cast Flame Sword then Attacker. Start using combos after-
wards.

Head back to the main room, and proceed to the part with exits in both left
and right sides. Take the left one. Smash the blue sphere. Return to the
main room, save and exit through the newly unlocked door. Here keep haeding
up the spiral path. Then go out and head east at the fork. You'll a gnosis
standing there, waiting. These things are really tough, but you'll have to
defeat them in order to proceed. You can choose to beat them the EASY way,
or the HARD way. I'll go with the easy way, since the hard way, is well
REALLY hard, so I don't think it's worth explaining here.

Make sure that Shion is positioned behind the boss at the beginning of the
battle. Keep escaping until you get the formation right. Then cast both
Aura Sword and Ether Spear on Shion (actually the just Aura Sword will do)
and summon Erde Kaiser Fury, to get this over with.

Head back and continue along the spiral path. When you reach the second
layer, destroy a part of the wall to find SEGMENT ADDRESS #12. Continue
up, then proceed down at the fork for another set of those things. After
that, climb up again and save. Continue through the passage and approach
the little thing for another mini-boss fight.

Now attack each of these enemies, until they have about 1600 - 1700 HP
left. Then finish them off with the Fiery Ritornelle double attack.
Alternatively, you can just summon Erde Kaiser and be done with this fight.

The platform will take you up to the next area. I suggest that you head
back down and save before fighting the real boss for this dungeon.

First, equip Spear Coat and Hammer Coat on your battle party. When the
battle begins, cast Aura Sword and attack to build up your boost gauge.
Stock everyone to full, then start doing combos. Both Dual Spell Ray and
Phoenix Blade double attacks deal pretty serious damage here. Each do
no less than 7200 and 14,000 HP worth of damage respectively (non-critical),
while the boss is suspended in mid-air. So I recommend using them if at all
possible.

Once you've done enough damage, it'll put up a shield which gives it "Break
Block". Just rely on Aura Sword & Attacker to boost your attack power at
this point. It also has a deadly fire-based move called, Ragnarok which is
something you should worry about. (Fire Coat & Veil is a good way to reduce
damage from that one.) When you see the messages "the door to ruin opens"
and "fate is inevitable", be prepared since Ragnarok will definitely follow.

When it's down to about 10,000 HP, the boss will stand still and allow you
to attack. If you fail to kill it in one blow however, it automatically
counters with Embrace, killing the target instantly. This is the right time
to bring in Shion, cast Aura Sword on her, and summon Erde Kaiser to finish
it off.

Open the treasure chest containing Decoder 12. Head back down and unlock
the corresponding segment door, to get SEQUENCER D. Dive out of here using
the green forbidden device. Now proceed to the Desert, and activate the
multi-colored forbidden device there, with the Sequencer D.

In my opinion, this battle is not that hard, just long. I'll start off by
describing it's attacks, then move on to strategy later.

- Dark Knuckle: Knuckle projectile attack (Strike) One character
- Dark Cyclone: Sword swipe attack (Slash) All characters
- Shadow Bind: H Bind. All characters
- Lost Mist: H Lost. All characters
- Dark Chaos Flame: Fire-type attack. All characters
- ?: (I didn't catch the name) L Ether DD. All characters

Like I said, this fight is long, so try not to fall asleep out of boredom,
ok? since you'll be hearing the dialogues "Dark Erde Kaiser Knuckle!", and
"Dark Erde Kaiser Cyclone!" a LOT. Just press the mute button of your TV
if those lines get annoying.

Alright back to business. Your primary source of damage here will be MOMO,
so cast Ether Spear on her and attack with 3 O buttons, once the robot has
been knocked down. Just keep doing that until you bring its HP down to
about 110,000 or so. At this point, it'll use Kaiser Shield -- this will
drastically reduce damage from any kind of attack. Bring in Shion and
summon Erde Kaiser to destroy the shield.

Once the shield's gone, the robot will have a total defensive meltdown.
So cast Aura or Flame Sword on your characters, along with Ether Spear
or Attacker. MOMO should deal as much as 6000 - 7000 damage when the
robot is downed. chaos does a great deal of damage as well. One last
thing, you'll find yourself healing often in this fight, so having
Focus I, EP Regen, & EP Half skills are STRONGLY recommended.

This is a very difficult battle, considering this one has much lesser HP
compared to the other two optional bosses. As you may have noticed, this
boss is derived from Nepos Rigas. Only more powerful. Now be sure to
equip Spear Coat on your battle party. Cast Aura Sword on your characters
and use combos -- Remember to toss it up in mid-air first. Also, Air is
more effective than Down.

Be sure to use Phoenix Blade, Dual Spell Ray, and Elemental Nocturne
double attacks. Each do 15000, 8000 & 4500 HP worth of damage respectively.
(while the boss is suspended on mid-air)  Keep your HP high at all times,
healing whenever you take damage that amounts to over 300. Erde Kaiser
does more or less 18000 damage (if Shion has Aura Sword casted) But don't
make the mistake of using up all 3 of those double attacks, as well as
Erde Kaiser too early.

Once you've done enough damage, the boss will become invulnerable to
frontal attacks. ("Break Block") Normal attacks are pretty much useless
at this point, so rely on the Annihilation ether spell, which deals
about 600 HP damage constantly. Now, once it has less than 15,000 HP
left, you'll see a message that says "the end is near", or something like
that. This means that Immolation is coming -- You'll definitely get wiped
out once it uses that move.

The only way to survive from that is, to keep it from using the move
altogether by killing it, using either one of the above double attacks
or Erde Kaiser. You may also consider using the Blessed Miracle double
attack just in case.

Another thing, whenever Phobos Rigas uses any "parameter up" skills its
Fear level increases. Which will eventually overwhelm it after reaching a
a certain level. This should stun it for a while. In addition, its weapons
get jammed ocassionally, causing the boss to waste a turn.

My recommended party for this battle: Jr., Jin & MOMO. One other thing that
makes this battle really difficult, other than Baal Zebul powerful attacks,
is that this boss initially has "Break Block". The only way to exploit its
weak zone is to either attack it from behind or, wait for it to relax its
defense -- this happens after you hit it with strike and pierce-type
offensives a few times. But take note that "Break Block" comes back up
real quick. (Usually after 1 turn)

Aqua Regia is Baal's most powerful attack, but it is also the one that's
easiest to avoid. When Baal spews some bile, the camera focuses on the
character that is being targeted. Simply move him/her to a different spot
on the field, so that the bile falls on an empty space.

Now make sure that you keep your boost gauge full at all times, by casting
Boost I. Stock your characters to full. Cast Ice Sword on your party, then
Attacker on Jr. and Jin. As for MOMO, cast Ether Spear instead. Move Jin to
the back. And then have him (Jin) break and send the boss up in the Air
(Can only be done with Combo Boost) Once that's done, try to do as much "AC
Ice" chains as possible. Since the more Ice chains you do, the higher the
damage becomes with each shot.

Once Baal starts using Baal's Curse, cast Annihilation on it immediately,
since you really wouldn't want the Move command to be locked up for too
long. Also remember that Baal Zebul can counterboost, so good timing
for chained attacks is crucial. You must not allow it to interfere with
your assaults. Just keep repeating the strategy provided in the third
paragraph.

It is highly recommended that you gain a few levels before fighting this
one, mainly to improve your mechs' Ether Defense. Though you can equip some
EF Circuits instead. Now Mikumari will ambush you with "Creeping in the
Dark" at the beginning of the battle, which deals massive damage to both
your E.S. so heal immediately. The problem with this boss is that, it is
lucky enough to get "Hi Critical" hits pretty often. If Zebulun gets blown
from that attack, reset your game. You'll need Charge Recover later.

Charge up Asher to 200, and move it to the back. Keep using Wings of Light
(Jr. - Jin combo) from this point onwards. (It deals about 10k to 12k worth
of damage per hit -- non-critical) Try to maintain your boost gauge at 3 by
casting Boost I as often as possible. After about 2 turns, Mikumari will
switch to Pure Mode.

During this time, cast any Down-type ether (Down Force, Down Ether, Down
PDEF, Down EDEF or Down DEX) on Mari -- to make it use Rebirth or Healing
Waters on you. At the same time, take this opportunity to cast Aura Veil and
Quick, with Zebulun if at all possible and have Asher restock. The boss will
switch back to Creeping Mode after 2 or 3 turns. The key here is to keep
your HP at no less than 16000 all throughout Creeping Mode, and you should
survive long enough until the next mode switch. (Assuming that it doesn't
get any Hi-Critical hits.)

Once you get Mari down to a little less than 120,000, the 1st of its 3
parameter improvement occurs. When this happens, Creeping Mode lasts longer
(3 to 6 turns) 2nd parameter improvement occurs below 65,000 HP (Creeping
Mode lasts 6 or so turns) As for the 3rd parameter improvement, it occurs
at below 33,000 or so HP (Mikumari won't switch to Pure Mode after this)
So you'll have to do all the healing on your own once that happens.

Also, it'll be wise not to use up all your boost counts on offense. Save
some of those so that Zebulun can use them when you get in trouble. Good
luck!

clients. You'll get useful rewards in return for your services. Since this
is a side quest, it's completely optional. But you'll miss out on a lot of

| When the battle starts, Mad Skelter will mimick the parameters of the    |
| highest level character in your BATTLE PARTY. I suggest bringing MOMO in |
| -- making sure that she has a higher level compared to your other party  |
| members. MOMO has the lowest STR parameter among all your characters,    |
| but she also has the highest EVA value. Despite this, I believe it'll    |
| all be worth it in the end.                                              |
|                                                                          |
| Most of the boss' attacks are physical in nature, so since MOMO has low  |
| strength, Mad Skelter's attacks won't hurt you at all. Thus healing is   |
| hardly required. "Inescapable Arrow - Final will still kill you though,  |
| and your attacks will miss a lot. Cast Flame Sword on your characters,   |
| then move one of them to the back.                                       |
|                                                                          |
| Start unleashing combos afterwards, hoping that they hit. Once you       |
| manage to bring its HP down to at least 26,000 or so, bring in Shion,    |
| cast Flame Sword on her and summon Erde Kaiser (while the boss is        |
| downed) to get this fight over with.                                     |
