The Cave from Double Fine coming to Wii U eShop

At a panel at PAX Prime 2012 Sunday, it was revealed that the upcoming Double Fine Productions adventure game, The Cave, will also be releasing on the Nintendo Wii U eShop in addition to several other platforms.

The title was originally announced for PC, Xbox Live Arcade, and the PSN.

The Cave stars a magical talking cave that is being explored by a group of adventurers drawn to the mystical location. At the beginning of the game, the player chooses three characters they'll use (out of a cast of seven,) to explore the cave in a Metroidvania-style experience.

As of right now, it's unclear whether the game will feature any additional functionality for the Wii U's unique tablet controller.

Cool, if they Wii U continues to get its fair share of 3rd Parties than its getting a real step up. If this isnt the Kickstarter game, it makes you wonder what was.

    Is this the kickstarter game?

As far as I've understand it, no, it isn't. Since I think the kickstarter game is supposed to be a proper old school point and click adventure. I could be wrong though.

No, this is a different game, headed by Ron Gilbert. Double Fine Adventure is being led separately by Tim Schafer. To find out more about (and back) DFA, go to
