Catherine-themed bar open for business

The bars I go to just serve drinks. I like a Corona with a lime or perhaps a Sapporo (if I’m feeling extra fancy and there’s sushi nearby). But now that I’ve seen what I could be drinking at a special Catherine-themed bar that just opened in Japan, plain beer just sounds stale.

In preparation for Catherine’s launch in Japan tomorrow, Atlus has worked with specialty restaurant Collabo Dining to produce a customized drink and meal menu themed after the unusual JRPG. Located in Tokyo, Collabo Dining will be serving original cocktails based on the cast of characters in Catherine along with a special “Stray Sheep” pizza dish. Patrons will be able to order from the custom Catherine-themed menu from February 17 until March 31.

The character cocktails sound mighty tasty and will cost ¥850 (about $10 dollars). Famitsu has posted the drink names along with the main ingredients for those of you who are thirsty for some Catherine cocktails.

Vincent: white rum, cola, cut lime
Catherine: raspberry, peach, grenadine
Katherine: black sambuca, milk, cream
Orlando: beer, soda, melon, yogurt cucumber
Jonathan/Johnny: sake, lemon, tonic
Tobias: grapefruit, tonic, cherry
Erica: mango, orange, cherry
Master: gin, vermouth, black olives
Midnight Venus: champagne, amaretto, cherry
Stray Sheep: yogurt, milk

Catherine is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan on February 17, tomorrow. Although a localized release for western audiences has not been announced, we can’t imagine that Atlus will pass on the opportunity. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long for the game to make its way here. In the meantime, we've got a great video preview of the Catherine demo, which we grabbed from the Japan PlayStation Network. Head to our Catherine Full Access Preview video to check it out.

Catherine video – Full Access Preview
We tricked our PS3 into thinking it was Japanese and grabbed Atlus’ latest sexy, sheepy demo

Catherine box art asks if you’re a breast or an ass man
The cover is about as racy as it gets, given the game’s rating

3 hours into game play, this game is sick. Makes 6 years of study more than worth it to not have to wait for the English. Awesome Awesome Awesome. And decent acting to boot.

I think the game looks pretty interesting. I will probably end up buying it. I like the dating sim ones there pretty funny and the puzzle challenge is interesting there are a ton of ways to climb to the top but I want to see more of the storyline as I could only pick out a little since it was too fast for me

@CH3BURASHKA I just want to see how big Vincent's mouth can actually get. ...mind out of gutter

Epic. Although it's decidedly less so if it's just a menu theme as opposed to a complete redesign of the bar to look like the "Stray Sheep". Still waiting on that US release Atlus... After seeing the FAP and the GBQL, I'm more stoked than ever. People seem to be put off by the actual gameplay, but I'm really digging it. It looks like a weird fit, a puzzle game alongside a "dating sim", but as a standalone game it looked fun. I'm even more intrigued by the story. Hopefully there'll be some Persona cameos so as to further confirm that the Atlus universe is an incredibly fucked up place where people can fall into TV's, fight monsters during the Midnight Hour, and die and become sheep in their sleep.
