Brink: New trailer brings cool customisation, sneaky spies, insanely handsome beards

Brink, the new team shooter from Enemy Territory dev Splash Damage, is looking better and better all the time. In fact with its insanely athletic, parkour-driven tactical shooting and stylishly cartoony visuals, it now essentially looks like the result of a highly illegal yet highly successful experimental gene splicing project using Team Fortress 2 and Mirror's Edge.

Want proof of this heady claim? Then check out this new trailer, which details Brink's stupidly extensive character customisation options, the complexities of its class-based combat (includingsome very TF2/Enemy Territorydisguise and conquer infiltration) and as promised above, some Captain Price-rivalling facial hair.

Also, we have details of the UK pre-order bonuses. Ever wanted a Doom tattoo, but without the embarrassment of explaining it to the grandkids? Then now is your time.

Pre-order from Game or Gamesstation and you'll a pack of special Doom and Spec Ops gubbins to customise your character with, including body tattoos, t-shirts, hats and weapon skins. Fancy some Fallout-themed stuff instead? Then go to Play.com. They'll give you Vault 101 and Vault Boy themed tattoos, weapon skins and clothing. And if you want plain want to look like a scary assassin-bastard, pre-order at Amazon. You'll get the Psycho Pack, consisting of the Caesar Revolver (an exclusivenew weapon), a "terrifying" face mask, new weapon silencers and a "Lost Soul" tattoo.

So, Brink then. Appetite whetted for it?

Long-time GR+ writer Dave has been gaming with immense dedication ever since he failed dismally at some '80s arcade racer on a childhood day at the seaside (due to being too small to reach the controls without help). These days he's an enigmatic blend of beard-stroking narrative discussion and hard-hitting Psycho Crushers.
