Blink and you'll miss this Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 gameplay trailer

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 famously used an arcane (and basically fake) trick known as blast-processing to deliver hyperspeed jaunts through brightly-colored, sprawling levels. Now that contemporary hardware technology has almost caught up with the wizardry of 1990s software design, Sega's finally able to deliver a comparable effect in Sonic 4: Episode 2. As you can see from this gameplay trailer, the results are satisfyingly kinetic.

If all of that was too much speed for you, you could always go back and peruse the sumptuous screenshots Sega used to tease this clip last week. (Or, um, hit the Pause button.) Anyways, look forward to seeing more of Sonic 4:2 before the game's release in May.

This looks good. I think I'm going to wait until all the "episodes" are released to get it. More than likely they will all be released as a bundle anyways.

Again, I think Sega has hit the nail on the head. Episode 1, Generations (apparently Colors, which I haven't played) have all been respectful games, I'm proud of my blue buddy. The games seem to get better and better... I mean, Sonic 2009 wasn't THAT terrible, aside from the interspecies romance, lame secondary characters, and strange physics. I won't lie though, I was more entertained playing that than I was playing Sonic Heroes, just sayin'. Episode 2 is gonna kick ass though, I can tell, and yea I'm fucking psychic, so don't question me.

Before anyone calls me on it, when I refer to the games getting better and better, I am referring to modern sonic. Recently re-playing through Sonic 1, 2, 3 + Knuckles has only reaffirmed that the new games haven't quite matched up. I think Generations came close, only nostalgia beat that entry out (Although the casino level in Episode 1 was pretty fucking awesome). GR, you should add an Edit option, i feel like a fool replying to myself... word.
