Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand hits PS3 on Dec 6, PC and 360 versions arriving one week later

Electronic Arts has announced the release date for Battlefield 3's first DLC, the Back to Karkand map pack, to which preorder customers have been awaiting their free access. PlayStation customers get the content a week ahead of everyone else, as a result of the Sony/EA deal that gives PS3 owners the first shot at new BF3 content – meaning Dec 6 is the pack's PSN date, with PC and Xbox 360 players joining in on the 13th.

Back to Karkand features Frostbite 2 remasters of four Battlefield 2 levels: Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula. The pack also adds Battlefield 2's Conquest Assault mode, which ups the stakes of the basic Assault mode. It's not all recycled content, though, as the pack also adds three vehicles, ten new weapons, and added Dog Tags and Achievement/Trophy points.

We previewed Back to Karkand recently and were definitely happy with the BF2 maps' transition to the new game. If you preordered, the pack is a God-given right to be pried from your cold dead hands; otherwise, expect to fork over $14.99 or 1200 MSP for the added content.

I am happy about this. I play on PS3, but I am also bothered by the fact that PC didn't get it first. I mean, hell we MADE the series what it is today. (I say "we" because I've been playing since 1942, all PC only till now) That aside, I never really liked Sharqi Peninsula that much.

You hate on Microsoft, but admit to using Windows because Mac is for homosexuals. You do know there's a thing called Linux too right? Besides, Mac's OS isn't that bad. Hell, if anything, it was the first to be commercialized. The problem with Macs is that their products physically suck. So do Microsoft's too.

Nope. We are too busy gaming rather than worrying about hackers stealing our private info and taking down our network. You mad? :p All jokes aside, I probably won't be getting it. Not a fan of the $15 add-ons. I prefer my games to come in one complete package. DLCs and add-ons should be free or at least come with the game. I give you the money I earned for the game you developed. Make it worthwhile for me; don't milk money out of me!

$15 for remasters? That's even worse than $15 bucks for a few new maps. I pre-ordered it, but that's still ridiculous.

Who cares who gets it first? We are all going to get it a week later, I'm sure you can all survive till then.

To be honest I don't mind waiting, and Im not raging that the PS3 crowd get it before I do. What I really want sorted, right now is those damn lights!! At least it makes it easy to spot a BF3 noob, IRNV scope & flashlight /facepalm. P.S. No I don't use that hideous combo myself. I use the PK-A scope, foregrip & heavy barrel
