Some of these are pretty cool. I remember seeing the Game Theorists Portal connection before and I also love the Booker/Songbird connection given Booker and Elizabeth's true connection. And if it wasn't for the Hyrule Historia I'd say Dark Link was a pretty good match for the Hero Shade too. Not sure about the Mono/Evil Queen one though. Isn't there a point in the SOTC map when you can make out the castle on the horizon? That would pretty much confirm that the temple from SOTC is not the same as the Ico castle. I prefer the "Wander is the first in the line of horned people" theory which would explain why Ico was imprisoned and persecuted - given that the horns are the result of doing evil deeds. By the way, was Shiek being Zelda all along THAT much of a surprise? Honestly?

I think you just spoiled the ending of Burial At Sea Ep. 2.

hero's shade is not dark link... he is link... most likely the Oot link....

    I thought so too,

I remember there being quite a few theories like these in the Soul Caliber universe, like Raphael being the new Nightmare and Viola is actually Amy.

Tifa>Aeris but both are too good for Cloud
  • srbingham - December 16, 2013 4:45 p.m.

One of my favorite theories is the Elder Scrolls one which is that Sheogorath in Skyrim was the player character in Oblivion.

    O.o that's an interesting concept.

Your pretty close on the SotC and Ico one The only thing that's off is that you can see the castle Ico takes place in from the top of the Shrine, or alternatively it can be seen if you can make it to the other side of the bridge In both cases it is seen far of in the distance This is actually foreshadowed in the Ico & SotC HD Collection In the menu you press either left or right to choose the game, and on screen it shows a canvas that scrolls over to the game chosen, and if you keep hitting left and right at the correct moments, it will slow down in the middle, where you can see an ocean between the 2 locations, meaning that they are connected to the same ocean, and not the same place.

Eli knows about G-Man during the Black Mesa incident and says he whispered "prepare for unforeseen consequences" into Eli's ear right before Gordon got into the test chamber. He also says G-Man supplied the crystal for the test, and he saved Alyx when she was a baby.

The G man also talks to the man character in the opposing force game so that debunks the fact that only gordon sees him
  • Bloodstorm - December 16, 2013 4 p.m.

Sorry, but the first time the G-Man is seen interacting with someone else is int he original Half-Life while Gordon is on his way to the test chamber. He can been seen through a window into a conference room where he is speaking with a scientist.

As pointed out, the Hyrule Historia reveals that Hero's Shade is actually Link from Ocarina of Time, which is rather cool - and creepy.

I always liked the "Riona is Ultimacia" theory. It makes Riona a more interesting character and it gives Ultimacia purpose aside from being the final boss. Too bad Square shot it down.
  • xrobzix - December 23, 2013 7:45 a.m.

i never heard it until now, i like it in a way as that it makes the game a a constant loop , and it makes me feel bad for killing rinoa
  • SonicHunter - December 16, 2013 2:56 p.m.

I thought Gengar was a dead Clefairy due to it being a ghost type, but that works too.
  • larkan - December 16, 2013 2:31 p.m.

Or, in most of these cases, the game's creators just needed an extra NPC, and made something up, and the internet is making up all this crazy shit and the creators are saying "oh yeah..that IS what we had in mind" and taking all the credit.

Amazing what we don't pick up on, details are always juicy. Still I liked the Dark Link one alot.
