8 Things You Want to Know About Too Human

4) Is the game any good?
We’re not ready to weigh in on this yet and we won’t be until we see the final product.

It is worth mentioning that the potential is there. Cool weapons, interesting items, epic armor sets, deep plot, unique character design… But it’s easy to wreck a good thing with a few bad design choices. Like Too Human’s "smart camera" - sure it’s innovative, but it also gets stuck behind pillars and will shake like a Jell-O cup having a seizure.

5) Will your friends want to play this game with you?
Yes. While the marketing department will focus on Too Human’s epic story and "innovative" gameplay, the multiplayer will be Too Human’s saving throw versus obscurity. The word is that multiplayer will be a co-op campaign mode that you can play with up to two friends. We didn’t get to see any of this in action at the demo, but you can check out more on multiplayer inthis preview.

6) Will you even care about the campaign mode?
It depends on two things: 1) do you like cyberpunk and if so, 2) how you like your cyberpunk - straight up or with a Norse mythology twist?

The Norse factor has been touted to death in nearly every preview ever written (the main character’s name is Baldur, after all), but the driving factor behind the plot isn’t the war of the gods (Ragnarok, if you will). It’s about a war between the Aesir (Norse gods and their human subjects) and machines that humans built which developed their own society and started kicking ass. Settle down, Matrix fans; our copyright infringement senses weren’t tingling; but there’s no denying that technology versus magic ("biotech," or whatever they wind up calling it) is the crux of the story while Norse mythology just provides characterization and convenient naming conventions.
