2.5D action and motion comics in Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate trailer

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate throws sidescrolling exploration, stealth, fisticuffs, and motion comic cut-scenes into the Bat-Blender and hits the puree button. Take a look at how all the components form one delicious portable slurry in this new trailer for the PS Vita version.

Blackgate is also headed to 3DS, though we've seen less of that version so far. Both games tell tell the same story of a prison gone wrong (again), set slightly after PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 title Batman Origins.

Seriously, though. The Gotham legal system needs to start separating all of its cold-blooded super villains after they're brought to justice. Maybe start an inmate exchange program with Metropolis?

The game looked really good. The cutscenes looked weak. I will wait for the reviews.

Lookin' good. I thought it was a 3DS exclusive before, but if it's on Vita, I think that's the version I want to get. Can we retire the phrase "2.5D" though? I get why people use it, but it's trying to describe the gameplay and the graphics--two different things--at the exact same time, but it ends up describing neither. Its a 2D game. That's the important bit that you're trying to express. I'm not sure that it's so important to talk about the method used to render the visuals that we need to cram "3D" into it without saying it's 3D (because that would be confusing. Well, more confusing than it already is when there's also stereoscopic 3D graphics on the 3DS that you could be referring to.) I feel that if you want to describe the graphics as well, go ahead and do so separately, and call it polygonal. Sorry for the little rant, but "2.5D" has always been kind of irritating to me for whatever reason.

Apparently if its a 2D Platformer but with 3D Models, its assumed 2.5D

the only bad thing about this is the voice acting - well, it's not bad. But it's not Asylum/City/Origins quality
