WWE Smackdown! Vs. RAW 2008

We chat with SmackDown!’s designer Dan Ryan

What’s the best thing about developing SmackDown on PS3?

Ryan: Well, it’s our first outing on the PlayStation 3 so that in and of itself is exciting. As far as the actual hardware goes, we’re having a blast just getting our feet wet and seeing what it's capable of.

We’ll be seeing the return of the last game’s analog control system, right?

Ryan: Definitely. Some hardcore fans of the series were initially resistant to the idea of altering the controls, but I can tell you firsthand that the response to the change has been overwhelmingly positive. In fact, this year, we’re revamping our submission system so that players will be able to actually move the analog stick along with their Superstar onscreen to wrench their opponent into submission.
