Talking to Newsweek on the set of the fifth Harry Potter movie, Emma Watson – better known as Hermione – has admitted that she’s not sure whether she wants to commit to making the next two films, the last of the franchise.
While Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) and Rupert Grint (Ron) are close to signing up for the final two movies, Watson is not sure that the next Potter adventures are really what she wants to be doing. "I don't know yet,” she admitted. “Every film is such a huge production, and it's a long time. Daniel and Rupert seem so sure. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing. I'll just have to go with the flow."
She is apparently considering following Natalie Portman’s example and completing her education. Which will be causing something of a panic headache for Warners and the producers – as recasting can be a tough job. "It would be a hard thing to change and it would be disrupting," producer David Heyman told the magazine. “So yes, I would love them all to see it through to the end. I adore them — I feel like an uncle or godfather — but ultimately they have to do what's right for them. This is their lives." Apparently Watson has fluctuated on whether to come back before and always ended up signing on. "So I'm cautiously optimistic that it will work itself out.”
He – like the rest of us – will have to wait and see. Meanwhile, The Order Of The Phoenix flies into cinemas next year.
