Uncharted nearly explored the depths of motion control with an underwater level

If you picked up Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for PS4, you may have noticed that the motion control sections of the game are absent. No more wobbling across those logs, no more tilting your controller to toss a grenade. It turns out the jump from PS3 to PS4 isn't the first time Naughty Dog has axed motion controls, though. During a recent Gamesradar+ How It's Done stream, we learned from Lead Animation Director Jeremy Yates that Uncharted: Drake's Fortune once featured an underwater sequence.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is now available for PS4, while Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is due in stores on March 18, 2016. If you want to see us chat with other developers, catch more How It's Done streams on our Twitch channel every Thursday starting at 4:30 p.m. Eastern.
