Someone's stolen all of GAME's Splatoon Squid Amiibo - Seriously

In a ridiculously unfortunate - but true - series of events, someone has stolen all of GAME's stock of special edition Splatoon and Squid Inkling Amiibo sets. Customers who had preordered this special edition received the email below from GAME stating that the lorry transporting the game has been stolen and the company can no longer fulfil these preorders. Customers who purchased the game will now get the standard edition.

Sadly this isn't a wind up. "We can confirm that the lorry transporting the Splatoon stock from Nintendo’s European warehouse to GAME UK has been stolen," confirmed Nintendo in a statement to GamesRadar+. "Included as part of this delivery was GAME’s allocation of the Splatoon + Squid Inkling Amiibo and as a result we are unable to honour pre-orders for this item in GAME. We are working with GAME to contact those customers affected. Whilst these unfortunate circumstances were out of Nintendo UK and GAME’s control, we apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment that this has caused."

Someone somewhere has a whole lot of Amiibo and is about to be, err, squids in on Ebay.
