Microsoft has opened up a page on its forums to let gamers vote on which Xbox 360 games they'd like to play the most on their Xbox Ones, and while the usual suspects make an appearance - your Call of Duties, your Halos, and so on - there are certainly a few surprises on the list.
The number one choice is Rockstar's open-world western, Red Dead Redemption. I'm a little surprised it takes the top honors over huge games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 with (as of this publication) just over 50,000 votes. I can understand why, though - without a PC version in sight, this will be the only way to play the modern classic on updated hardware.
The rest of the top 20 is mostly filled with expected hits, like Fallout 3, Skyrim, and Mass Effect 2, but then you've got Halo Wars (of all games) rounding out the bottom of the first page - which is great, because that game is an underappreciated gem, and more people should have a chance to play it. It's sitting at just under 20,000 votes, which is way more than I ever expected it to get.
Further down the list, you've got Alan Wake (16,544 votes), Assassin's Creed: Rogue (10,374 votes), Lost Odyssey (6,977 votes), and Vanquish (only at 3,152 votes, a number which is making a few of us here openly weep). There are also some stranger inclusions, like most of the Halo series and Minecraft, both of which already have versions available on the Xbox One.
Coming in dead last is Dance Dance Revolution at 20 votes. Coffeetime Crosswords has more votes than DDR. Beat'n Groovy has more votes than DDR. Duck Dynasty has more votes than DDR. This cannot stand.
If you've got a 360 game you'd like to see on Xbox One (may we suggest Vanquish?), hop on over to the page and vote. While every game probably won't get the backwards compatibility treatment, this list will give Microsoft a good idea of what games you're looking for.
