PlayStation game streaming considered for all Sony devices and beyond

Sony Computer Entertainment will start streaming a library of PS3 games on PS4 and PS Vita next year, but Shuhei Yoshida wants the program to go far beyond that. The director of SCE's worldwide studios told Dengeki Online (translated by DualShockers) that in the next few years many PlayStation games could become Anywhere games.

"Speaking of the ultimate goal, we would like to deliver PlayStation games to all devices," Yoshida said. "So we’re considering various things like PC, TVs, Blu-ray players, smartphones and tablets. We hope to continue to expand not only to Sony devices, but even to devices other than Sony’s. This is still being studied."

Yoshida sees the Play growing far beyond the Station in the future. That said, there will still be a place for a central gaming machine.

"We previously spoke about PlayStation going from hardware to something closer to a service, regardless of the device--of course PlayStation will still be the center, but I think we would like to expand to different things."
