Minecraft madman genius builds all of Planet Earth in-game
The Starship Enterprise was cool. So why not start giving it a solar system?
You have a game that lets you build anything. What do you make? How about everything? A chap by the name ofroddds469(interesting Christening, by all accounts) has done just that, creating a scale model of the whole goddamn planet. And he's driven around its skies in a minecart to show it off. You know you need to see this.
Fear not for noble roddds though. He did not build this thing brick-by-brick, via frequent trips outside to check the elevation of the horizon. That way would lie actual brain capsize. No, he imported a NASA topography map for all of the terrain height details, and then made a few tweaks. Still though, a ludicrous achievement, and one he's keen to build on.
This you see, is just the prototype stage. Roddds plans to re-make the map "on a larger scale", so the Lord only knows what he's going to pull out next. Hopefully a full-sized Earth with a full-sized star-base floating next to it for thatfull-sized Enterpriseto dock at. AndRapture in the sea. That would make me happy.
