Ken Levine's new game sounds like an open world shooter

A job posting has appeared that tells us a little more about Ken Levine's mysterious and new first-person narrative experience. The studio formerly known as Irrational Games (but confusingly still on the Irrational Games site) is a fraction of what it was in its BioShock days and working on a much smaller project now. Levine has already confirmed that this new IP will be much more narrative-focused than ever before.

However, looking at the experience and responsibilities for a new 'gameplay systems designer and tuner,' there are still plenty of Bioshock style elements in there. Damage tuning, loot tables, cool downs, resources and upgrade systems all need to be balanced and a passion for narrative first-person shooters is 'a plus.' The posting also discusses the cohesive systems with regard to player abilities, enemies and obstacles to overcome.

Add in the fact that the team is looking for someone who has experience in open-world or semi open-world games such as Borderlands and Shadow of Mordor, and the small project sounds quite a lot bigger than first suggested. The listing has this Ken Levine talk as required viewing. Definitely one to keep our eyes peeled for in 2016.
