Jamie Foxx discusses Electro role

Jamie Foxx was recently confirmed as villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , after being linked to the role for some time.

He has wasted no time talking about the comic-book bad guy, telling ET Online that he’s “a great character”.

"I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked.

“I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he's a… genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on."

It seems as if Foxx will join a long-line of Spider-villains who are decent men at heart, who go down a bad path after some unfortunate slip-ups/personal problems.

Foxx joins newcomers Dane DeHaan and Shailene Woodley, alongside Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , which is set to open in the UK on 18 April 2014.
