The Fortnite Winterfest event is back once again, though things are a little different during the festive proceedings this year that run from December 14, 2023 to January 2, 2024. The familiar Winterfest Lodge has been retired, at least for this year, so there will be no sitting in front of a roaring log fire, but there are still plenty of cosmetic reward items to unlock and make your locker in Fortnite a bit more in keeping with the Holiday spirit. To find out exactly what you can unlock and when, here's the lowdown on the Fortnite Winterfest 2023.

The Fortnite Winterfest Lodge is no more

The Winterfest Lodge, aka the Fortnite Cozy Lodge, has not returned for the 2023 event, so there isn't a central hub to visit this year and explore as part of the lobby menu. Don't worry though, as there are still Winterfest Presents to collect, and these can be found under the Daily Gifts section of the Quests menu. You'll need to enter a match each day to unlock this option, but your gifts will stack up if you miss one or more days so you can collect them all right up until January 2, 2024 when Winterfest in Fortnite ends. For more details on what you can receive, see the Rewards section below.

Fortnite Winterfest Quests 2023

Unsurprisingly there are Fortnite Winterfest quests attached to the event, with the following assignments currently live at the time of writing:

  • 1 of 4 - Visit a Fortnite Ship It Express location (1)
  • 2 of 4 - Investigate stolen present stashes (3)
  • 3 of 4 - Visit Crackshot's Cabin when the floating loot island appears (1)
  • 4 of 4 - Talk to Holiday Boxy about the stolen boxes (1)

  • Hit opponents with snowballs from the Snowball Launcher (3 / 7 / 15 / 30)

  • Damage enemy players with thrown items in the Ship It! Express LTM (300)

The following Winterfest quests are due to roll out during the event:

  • Land from the bus at Winterburg and finish in the top 20 players (1)
  • Travel distance while sliding continuously with Icy Feet (50)
  • Travel distance in the air using the Icy Grappler (200)
  • Talk to Characters to receive free items (3)
  • Assist in searching Winterfest Present containers found around the map (5)
  • Consume Snowy Floppers or hide in a Sneaky Snowmando (3)
  • Emote on a dance floor (1)
  • Travel distance while sprinting (1,000)
  • Get headshots on enemy players (30)
  • Restore health or gain shields (300)
  • Light off a firework (1)
  • Witness the ball drop for New Years (1)

  • Land in a snowy region in different matches (2 / 4 / 6 / 8)
  • Damage opponents while in a snowy region (250 / 700 / 1,500 / 2,500)

Complete 19 of the Winterfest quests (not including the Ship It Express Snapshot quests) and you'll unlock the Snowglobe Smasher pickaxe to add to your locker.

Fortnite Winterfest Rewards 2023

Several Fortnite Winterfest rewards have already been officially revealed, including the Holiday Boxy outfit and Winterfest Bushranger outfit pictured above. There are a total of 14 rewards that can be earned by opening Daily Gifts from the Quests menu, which unlock on the following dates in December 2023:

  1. Glorious Giftblade back bling
  2. GG Chilled emoticon
  3. Holiday Boxy outfit
  4. Snowfaller contrail
  5. Slurp Co. banner icon
  6. Elite Servo glider
  7. Bushie Bright wrap
  8. Blocko spray
  9. Winterfest Wish lobby music
  10. Perfect Pivot glider
  11. Winterfest Flurry wrap
  12. Winterfest Bushranger outfit
  13. Slap Juice banner icon
  14. Bedside Nanner back bling

As stated earlier, these daily Winterfest rewards stack up, so don't worry if you aren't able to log in and claim them every day during the Festive season – just make sure you pick them up before the event ends on January 2, 2024.

Fortnite Winterfest New Weapons and Items 2023

Finally, the Fortnite Winterfest event in 2023 sees a couple of classic weapons and items returning from the festive vault for a limited time. The Snowball Launcher flings frosty projectiles at your opponents to deal damage, while the Holiday Present throwable springs up a gift box full of useful loot. You can also use the Sneaky Snowmando to place decoys or hide yourself from your enemies, while the Snowy Flopper restores Health while giving you icy feet. You'll be able to use the Icy Grappler to launch yourself around the island while landing with icy feet, when that launches later in the Winterfest event.
